2002 Protege 5
Just got the Greddy Evo cat-back. Not sure when I'll be able to put it on. Gotta work late and I don't want to run into any problems getting those bolts off.

Anyone out there know if the bolts on the P5's are hard to get off? When I had an Integra I did the cat-back the bolts that attached the catalytic converter to the exhause were soooooo hard to get off.

Any help would be awesome.

Is this the "redesigned" Greddy? I read that the first production did not fit correctly.

Anyway, congrats! Let us know how it sounds!

the bolts are prob going to give you trouble. i broke one and then striped the other one. so i had to grind the head off.

I just called Greddy and asked the guy if they were re-designing the Evo for the Protege 5. He said that this is not correct. And that it must be a rumor.

I asked him a couple of times to make sure that he really knew or not. He strongly told me "no we are not re-designing it."

I looked on the web site that I ordered it from ( www.importhorizon.com ) and it said nothing of it being re-designed. The only site I've seen that says it is being redesigned is protege5online.com.

Is there anyone else who knows more info than this guy @ Greddy?

Thanx

Where did you read that this model was being redesigned?

If it was redesigned, that was months ago...When I first bought the MSP I tried to get the GReddy Evo. The guy said it was only for the P5, and someone else cut him off and said it wouldn't be re-released for a few more weeks. That was back in late January. I doubt GReddy would admit to a redesign due to the fact they might lose sales. Besides, the exhaust has strict standards it must pass, so if it has been released, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Just make sure you send in your registration card.

Yeah, I thought that sounded a little funny that Greddy would have to "redesign" a cat-back. You would think that they would get it to fit right the first time (sense they would have the vehicle to test it on).

Not to mention...they would have a big problem if they released something that didn't fit right.

So I'm sure it was just rumors.

The guy @ Greddy seemed pretty peeved that I was even asking him that question.

PICS PICS PICS!!! Cause I want one! want to see how it looks... actually i know how its going to look.... its going to look sweet cause Greddy is the Shiznat! ;)

Get some WD-40 or better yet, PB Penetrating Fluid...if your car is pretty new...it shouldn't be that bad. Spray it on there and let it settle in for about 10-15 minutes...it'll be much easier and you won't strip. I put my catback on myself with not a lot of mechanic experience...it wasn't hard... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS.

if you search for team moon exhaust, i believe i have the bolt sizes and everything listed to help you install.

bump! i have a line on these right now for cheap. let me know how they look. pics would be helpful. really!

This really sucks!!! I finally found some time to put the darn thing on and...they sent me the wrong one!

The one they sent me was for the 1993-97 MX6. I have to send an email to them and try to return it and have them ship me the correct one. I am pissed!!!

i was getting a sweet deal on mine's from adventon.com. there are some internet sites that are selling it for $500 shipped. go to importhookup.com for more info. ummm... adventon has theirs for $467 the last time i looked. and since i was planning a trip back to california anyway, i was going to pick it up from their store. i don't think they were going to charge tax since i am technically out of state, and instead of shipping, i was going to get it. so yeah... that's where i was getting mine.

but then i changed my mind. i found a brand new racing beat froma forum member and have decided to get that instead. the tip is tons smaller and i like that. ok, that's all.

sorry sondogg, hope things work out for you!

tonka.
