Just got my windows tinted!!!

Previous CX-7 owner and have had my 2010 CX-9 Touring for about a month now. Just got back from having windows tinted. I used the guy I that did my CX-7 a few years back. When he did the CX-7 (2007) he only had to do the fronts @20% and they matched perfectly. However when he did just the fronts with 20% they were darker than the back. So I had to take back and he did the back 4 with 12% (I think) and now looks perfect!!!

Looks good.

I thought the lower the number meant a darker tint (less light passing through) so if 20 was too dark wouldnt 12 be even darker?

Hmm...you may be right...I know 20% are on the fronts. Not sure what he put on the backs. Also it looks allot darker as it was cloudy when I took pics.

That's true. The lower the number, the darker the tint. I've got 5% on my
3 and you can't see in. I can't even see at night while driving b/c it's so dark.
I've never heard of 12% tint!!

I have a call into him to find out exactly what he used.

I know here in Wisconsin it is illegal to tint anything over factory % on the side windows.

I had a friend who got pulled over and had to remove the tint within one week or get a stiff fine.

He's already said his tint is darker than that. I hope they don't have yearly inspections in Indiana.

I am a GROWN man. Not some gang banger driving a hooptie with 24's. LIKE I SAID I HAD A CX-7 PRIOR for 3 YEARS and not once was I ever questioned (have been pulled over before both by state and local). AND even if I am pulled over and asked to remove, I gladly will. It cost me a total of $80 to have this done. I think by what I am driving, I can afford a loss of that amount. Also almost EVERY "nice" car here has tinted windows. If I am driving like an A-Hole or a cop has suspicion that I am doing something illegal then he can use that to pull me over. Other than that, here in INDIANA I AM FINE. Thanks for worrying about me.

And NO we DO NOT HAVE inspections here in Indiana.

It really doesn't look that dark in sun. The only other concern would be night driving, but as long as you can see safely, it's fine.

It'd be nice if they would make window glass than darkens in sun and lightens at night like eyeglasses have for decades. Best of both worlds.

I know right....They have sun shades for home windows like that. That would be sweet.

Driving at night is fine. Actually my CX-7 the factory tint in the rears where darker than this.

How the heck did that all cost you only $80. You tinted 4 windows right? I think it cost me upwards of $200 to do my Sentra. Crazy.
