- Soon to be buying Mazda3s
Hey guys, I just bought my Black 3i auto on Friday (7/2) and love it so far. I have put about 375 miles on it so far and really enjoy driving it. I went with the i to save both on cost of car and insurance and I am happy with it. The "S" model is very nice, but I didn't want to spend the extra money for it.
I also looked at the Toyota Corolla LE because of its reliability and resale value but was a bit annoyed by being treated really bad at TWO dealers. One tried to get the loan in (end of the month) before we even test drove car nevermind talked about price. I left when they wouldn't show me any cars. The second dealer had the "perfect" corolla but wanted $300 more than MSRP AFTER taking money off the "market adjusted value" price. When they refused to budge, we walked. The dealer has called me twice since thursday.
Friday I walked into the Mazda dealer and saw the salesman that has helped me in the pass. I like the black 3i , sport package, auto, spoiler and floor mats. He gave me a price I liked and I bought it. Its a great car and I couldn't be happier. Black is definetly a hot car in Florida and esspecially with black interior, I really bake but the AC works great and I will tint windows soon.
I won't be modding the car as I bought it to get from point A to B. I will use it for personal use, to and from work and also going to school. I'll probably put about 20k miles a year on it. In October I am going to DC for a week and will drive the car for the vacation.
I sold my 1998 Mitusbishi Galant to my brother last week. He needed a second car and I sold it to him for what I owe. I bought the car in Nov 00 with 43k miles on it and sold it to him with just about 110k. The car was excellent and got me everywhere including to Boston & Key West. Only disappointment was the paint, it all but came off. The clear coat is gone on most of the car. Mistubiushi refused it being thier fault although it is a problem on many 97-99 Galants and some eclipses. Mitsu refusing claim to the problem played a role in me not looking a Mitsu's again. Also Mitsu's resale value played the biggest role.
Finally, I am a moderator over on thegalantcenter.net and will continue being one on that site. Although I don't own a galant anymore I am still part of thier family. I will visit this site daily and i hope to gain a lot of knowledge and also share knowledge about our terrific cars. Looks like this is a great site for Mazda! Glad to be a member!
