- 93 Mazda MX-6
Hi, First I'd like to introduce myself. I'm chris. Music producer, from houston. I just bought a 93 MX-6. I like it. I've always wanted one. Bought it for 950. It runs and drives but it isnt without problems. I would like to know if anyone in here has any input, advice, etc. for me when it comes to these issues.
First the previous owner told me the Air sensor (I assume he meant MAF) is faulty. If this is the case, would that explain why my car sputters when I try to accelerate, and the car having a high idle (2300-3200 rpm)? Or could it be another issue all together?
Second, The steering wheel doesnt line up with the gauges when the tires are straight. I assume an alignment would correct this?
Third, the cluth petal feels a little too easy to push in, it doesnt have a mushy feel, it just feels like i cant tell if clutch is all the way in. Is this just a general issue with the car, or could it be something that needs to be addressed immediately?
and lastly the interior for this car is.... Pretty dirty, if you pat the seats dirt flies out, the door panels are s***, and plastic around the climate controls and gauges, is cracked and parts of it do come off.. So;
Is it easy to find replacement parts that are a direct bolt in from other models or would it be easier (and cheaper) to go to a junkyard and find an mx6 with leather seats, or a better dash bezel, or whatever its called?
I have looked for most but i cant find any that fit my exact situation. I want opinions on whether this car was a good buy considering its problems. I would also like advice on any of the issues im experiencing. I look forward to getting active in this forum.
