Just another yellow P5 build...

Yup, tried the mp3 ecu, no dice.

Measured 12v and a good fuse for the "inj or fip".

Measured 12 volts and a good fuse at the "engine" fuse in the cabin.
 
Key put to "on", measured ecu plug pins 71 & 97 (battery positive voltage) both read 13.5V. Yet neither ecu can be read, no cel pops up in the cluster when key is put in. It's as if the ecus are not there. Everything is normal, just no spark or injector pulses.

Don't know about fuel pump, I've never been able to hear it in this car.

And when should I hear the main relay click?

Ps thanks to all who have tried to help, I really appreciate it and hope we can come up with some sort of solution. Presently, I'm at a loss. I have no idea.

Where's pcb at with his manual pages? Haha, seriously though.

The fuel pump comes on when cranking. Try doing a small quick crank, not even a full crank and you should be able to hear it

As soon as you turn the key to accessory? I think, it's the one right before it cranks, you will hear a whine from the fuel pump. If it's a walbro, it's significant. If it's stock you have to really listen. It'll be easier if your rear seat is out.
 
I have a deatschwerks fuel pump, no noticable noise on accessory. Only when cranking

I have a msp ECU that works but you can't connect an OBD2 scanner. You can have it if you want. Ran it in my car when I first put the turbo on

I don't normally read the build threads.... My car's completely stock and I'm just trying to keep it out of the graveyard.

Here's the list of things the FSM says but that's for the stock ECU and I don't know how different it would be for you.

Apparently if you're not getting a crank sensor signal you will get a couple of sparks then nothing. (stock ECU anyway)

Our temp gauge is a dummy gauge controlled by the ECU.

It Always reads half way until its Really hot.... There could be a compatibility issue between the gauge and ECU ?? (which may not matter except for an inaccurate Temp guage ??)

It does sound like some sort of connection or grounding issue.

What an awesome, entertaining, and educating thread! New member...my P5 is in the shop waiting on a tranny. I have really basic auto knowledge and skills so most of this was over my head but I learned so much. I'm hoping to learn enough to basically service my own car throughout the years like so many of you do. Dude Jackie Chan your car is such a great expression of your passion and energy! Awesome stuff. I'm sorry she won't wake up right now but you'll no doubt figure it out...you've pretty much built this entire car with your own hands.

Thanks I appreciate it, keep poking around, if you think my stuff is neat, you'll be blown away by some of the other cars.
 
I need to go out and test all the ecu grounds for continuity. Havent done that yet. Also gunna pop open both ecus to look for visible burns. I never heard or smelled anything though.
