JDM_Pro5's Build Thread

Current update on the tire situation. I spent $300 in tires and put in a Insurance claim with the City's Insurance Advisory. The city said they are not responsible for that construction and said they would find the contractor that is. They contacted me last night and gave me the info for the contractor. I contacted my insurance to see if I could get some help. Unfortunately, I have a basic policy and don't have collision due to some tickets in the past. I technically "Collided with bad construction" and they won't help me either. I'm alone against this contractor. I left a voicemail with the man who handles these issues with that contractor this morning. Hopefully he will get back to me, if not, I will hire a lawyer. If I have to bring in a lawyer, I will ask for enough money to; A. Cover the lawyer and court costs, B. Cover my tires, fix-a-flats, Alignment, and any other repairs I can find, C. Pay me my work pay for a day since I had to use a sick day at work to fix this BS, C. Personal compensation for wasting my time to handle all this BS, D. Gas money for my wife's car for having to drive back to that city the following day to get my car. I'll sue their pants off because I'm pissed now. No construction signs, no street lights, no traffic cones, no steel plate...nothing

Borrowed a buddy's shop/lift Saturday. Added my front bumper foam, added the plastic bumper clips that install in front of the headlights. Readjusted my aac brackets and fixed my bumper sag! Then I popped off my rear wheels and added camber bolts. I maxed these bolts out (which isn't much) and might be running around -1* on the rear now. My wife snapped a pic of me in the process

My LEDs in the license plate have been going out. They are 5-LED posts. They began flickering and then one shorted and blew one of the contacts. I assume My crappy light covers let moisture in because the leds looked moldy. I broke one of the light covers trying to get it off because they are retarded. I just ordered two sealing 4-led bulbs from superbrightleds.com and think I will take some silicone to the light covers and adhere them to the car

Doesn't look half bad.
I this a gloss black would look better on our midnightblue.
And tinting the sunroof makes a big difference. I did mine the other day

The plastidip looks better and better each day as it cures and evens out. I got my LEDs from super bright LEDs yesterday (Fast shipping). They look a lot more water proof than my last set

yeah mine are gone too lol

IIRC, they don't touch the headlight housing. It's more for the bumper. But when I did the swap in the silver P5 I removed them to paint the bay and forgot to re-install them and my bumper still looked fine.

These are not the AAC brackets. the AAC brackets are metal and install on the sides of the bumper where it meets the fender. They are metal braces that support between the two bolts and align everything with properly placed threads.

AAC BRACKETS

The brackets I showed above are part 16 (Spacer, Bumper stay)
item number: R BN5V-50-CS1A
L BN5V-50-CS0A

I had to buy both the right and the left since I had neither. I got them from a local friend who sources dealer parts. I paid about $21 for each one.

Each piece is a flat plastic mount that mounts to the crash bar using two bolts. There are dimples on the bottom that fit in holes in the crash bar so you know where they mount. The bolt holes in the crash bar are threaded for mounting. The tabs them self are adjustable in height and have elongated nipples on the back. Raise the support up a few clicks until the nipple touches the underside of the headlight.
