JDM_Pro5's Build Thread

My bumper is currently being held on with AAC brackets and one headlight bracket where the grill attached. I will replace the headlight bracket with custom fabricated metal brackets and add the plastic brackets. After that is on and aligned, I will bring in my fenders so they meet the hood and close that gap. may have to adjust headlight angle a wee bit. I wan't to run about -1* on my rear wheels to avoid any rubbing issues. Anyone know what the factory Camber is for the rear?

yeah i have bumper gap/sag its killing me. gonna get the kit along with the bbk kit

you didn't hear this from me, just use bolts and washers. does the same thing and a lot cheaper. I've seen it in person :D

Bought two cans of plastidip. Re-dipped my center console, removed the radio surround faceplate, dipped it and left the Phony CF sides, fixed my AC so it runs on fan speed two. There are two small light bulbs, one on either side of the gauge cluster (air temp and air flow switches), and the left one has been acting up. When I cut my lights on at night, 50% of the time the left side isn't illuminated. I smack the crap out of it and it lights up. The bulb doesn't seem to be burnt out, especially if I can make it come on by Hulking out. I dunno if there is a short in the wire or if the contacts are having issues, but I was done for the night so I put everything back.

^ My right side bulb doesn't always come on, but a decent smack to the side always wakes it up.

I have this with one of my cluster bulbs... every now and then the light on the left side of the tach and right side of the speedo goes out. I just give the top of the dash a few good whacks and it gets in its place.

So if you noticed....I bought two cans of plastidip and barely used any of the first one. I have plans to dip something. As soon as this bad weather goes away and I can wash it up, it will be dipped.

Bad weather clearing up in NC is like asking for a cure for cancer.

Not dipping the whole car, I love midnight blue, it's my fave. I'm doing a large accent piece though.

I've got a quote for paint now, looking to sell some truck wheels I have so I have paint money. trust me, it bugs me too.

When it rains it pours, literally.

^ you call it. Roof and top of spoiler. It should have been done by now but buying those cans of dip was an omen. Now it's winter and raining every day :(

So Sunday...here we go...I was driving in a neighboring city Greensboro. This city is about 30-40 mins away from me. I was out visiting friends and having dinner with them. While traversing the city, we came across a LOT of road work. I was following my friend in her car and she was avoiding manholes which were now man-mountains since the top layer of asphalt had been removed leaving them 4-6 inches high. We get to her apartment, rally up with her boyfriend there, and all head out to dinner. Her boyfriend is now driving and he is new to this city since he just moved in with her. I'm following him rather closely since we are both clueless to this city. His car has a nice built in GPS and is leading us to dinner. Unfortunately, he isn't swerving around these giant manholes since he isn't familiar with them. It's later, it's dark, I hit two next to each other and fly all over the place. After dinner, I start driving a short distance and realize my car is jiggling. I get out with my flashlight and see that both tires on my passenger side are now flat...FML...I drive down the street at 20MPH to a Sheetz with free air. Neither tire will hold air, it is pouring out of a small hole on the inside tire wall. I have my wife ride with our friend to the Harris Teeter down the street to get fix-a-flats for both tires. My wife buys the Fix-a-flat brand for one tire, and the Lucas green slime per my request for the other. I apply both products with no fix. After an hour of attempted inflating, I surrender. It is now roughly 11pm on a Sunday night, I'm in a different city, in the ghetto mind you, and I have 2 flat tires and 1 spare. I drive it down the street to their apartment, leave it for the night, then have them take us home. I take Monday off of work to get this resolved. We take the Mazda3 back to Greensboro, grab my car, then start looking for nearby tire places. I find 4 different places. First wants a little over $300 installed for two tires and doesn't have them in stock, second wants $435 for 2 tires installed and wants me to wait 2 hours for the tires to get there from the warehouse( I laugh in their face and walk out), third doesn't carry 215/35/18 and can't get them. I bite the bullet and drive the 15 minutes to the discount where I wanted to go. They install two kumhos for under $300 with the warranty. I'm currently working with the Insurance and Claims Advisory of the City of Greensboro to be reimbursed for my ties, $24 in fix-a-flat junk, and alignment I now need. On the bright side, here are new tires
