Japs... wtf are they smoking.

my wife is japanese and i dont think that was a good way to start the thread. anyways those trucks are dope! ive seen em' in person and there even nicer. there loud as hell though.

Again.. "Japs" is short-term for "Japanese persons."

Japanese is only DEROGATORY or OFFENSIVE if it is meant to describe jewish spoiled females called "Jewish American Princess"

i created a new term "Japanese'n"

i define it as something that is strange, crazy and cool all at the same time:)

those trucks are totally Japanese'n it up (2thumbs)

oh and im half japanese

My first thought when I saw those trucks was that the junkyard exploded...then I noticed they were trucks. I can definately see the Transformers resemblances though.

And some of you guys seriously need to take it easy with the PC crap...People need to learn how to take things in context whether they were meant playfully or hatefully - It's such a load of crap to try and tiptoe around trying to avoid offending people because they take offense to absolutely everything

those are bad ass trucks! TRANSFORMERS that are for real! but J*p aint right or to say Flip for filipinos, weres the respect!

that's nice

if you have even half pay attention to your history classes, Japanese were called "japs" in WWII and shortly after... they got pissed when they were called that because they didn't want to relate themselves with the Empire of Japan... that's just a watered down version

oh and I suppose you don't care if you piss off the Jewish either huh? Japanese = Jewish American Princess

you can take your opinion about political correctness and stfu.. there's tons of people with many different backgrounds here on the board... we don't need to be stepping on each other's toes

those trucks are quality...think they will make some u.s. spec versions...? i hope so...

I have a question regarding the ethnic comments...

To all people of asian background:

Is being called "oriental" derogatory? I have never thought it was, but I know someone that I used to work with that was suspended for using this term. I am NOT of asian background, so I am really curious as to the answer to this question.

I'm not Asian..but I've heard that is a bad term to use...oriental sounds like a type of food, not an ethnicity

The word of Japanese being negative sort of had its root from World War II, were it was describe negatively towards Japanese. It kind of carried over into mainstream America and to some is seen as a negative comment towards Japanese.
However it kind of varies in the text it is being used in. True it can be used as a abbreviation or negatively.

*Personal Opinion beware*
To me the usage of single words that denote racism is not worth my time. If a person can only banter on a person cause of their race with a single word then they are worthless. Actually they are worthless for even beginning to use racism as a excuse in any argument or rational thought process.
*End brief Personal Opinion*

On topic now:
Those trucks are bad arse!!! True they can be little hard on the eyes with all the chrome. But the paint jobs, creatively, and time put in to them makes them bad arse!!!

imagine having to clean the bugs off the front after a trip down the highway

omg you would go nuts

Imagine taking those things to a local detailing shop ? They would have a hernia!

And yeah ... Oriental is a rather generalized and narrow-minded term for Asian people. It's somewhat akin to calling the entire population of America Jewish. ;)

I remember someone once asked me if I was oriental. I turned and gave him a funny look, eyes wide ... then I started speaking in ebonics.

The look on his face was priceless. :D

I am half Japanese, and imo, oriental and Japanese are two terms that should not be thrown around lightly or because someone is too lazy to type the extra -anese letters. It's just asking for flame. What if I said KKK because I was too lazy to type Caucasian? I don't want to sound negative, but I have had my share of racist acts shown to me at my expense. In fact, one of my used to be close friends thought it would be funny to carve the word gook on my door frame when his cousin was with him (I guess he just wanted to be funny and show off). I was pissed. IMO don't use any words that your gut tells you may be misconstrued.

On to topic now, my dad went to Japan and told me some people spend more on there cars than there house and stuff. He saw cars with chandeliers and fish tanks inside. Crazy. I wonder how much those dump trucks cost to do that? Peace.

But how can you say KKK = lazy way of saying Caucasian? It's "white" .. not KKK. People need to stop being so tight assed... I couldn't care less if someone called me oriental, even though I am Asian. It doesn't matter to me if it is thrown around lightly. Some of you guys need to get off the "give me sympathy becaues I'm different attitude"... and others need to stop trying to be so damn Politically correct because they feel it needs to be done. As long as the intent was not to harm, who gives a damn.

i'm 100% pure bread chinese, i was born here in the US so being raised here being called an "oriental" isn't as offensive to me but yes it is offensive to others...take my grandfather for example he was born in china and takes offense when called oriental because it's too much of a generalization he doesn't want to be associated with others...there are so many cultures in asia it's just not good to sum them up into one...heh, he used to say that some people are just not like us...and they only lived a providence away...lol...gotta love the old man's opinions

I've never heard it used in a derogatory way. I've always heard of it as Jewish American Princess. Usually reserved for the b****y little girls that have to have it their way or no way. Take for example when my girlfriend was moving out of the dorms at college and the JAPS wouldn't move their boxes out so they had Brown come up package their stuff and ship it for them. It didn't matter how much it cost or how much stuff they had.

Humm.... How about 100% Chinese, born and raised in Hong Kong and don't start living here until the age of 15??? Oriental.... humm, I don't know if I'll be offensed or not, it depends on the whole sentence what you're trying to say I guess...

DUDE exactly how much is this guy spent on his "not dumping" dump truck?

Hey, so I can go around carrying these pictures tp a US' lowrider moded up pickup trucks and show them.... BIGGER IS BETTER! :D :D :D JDM BABY!
