I wanted a bit of input from the MX-5 guys if I could. My girlfriend wants a Miata (I like em too but it'll be hers). We test drove an 06 with 30k on it and they wanted $15,495. It's a nearly perfect looking car and it drove great. Does this seem like a decent price? Thanks from a Speed3 member!

Prices are down for all cars, to include Miatas that generally hold their value well. I'd check N.A.D.A., Kelley Blue Book, etc to see what the prices are, these days. I also like to see what others are asking by checking places like Autotrader, etc. With a little haggling, the price may come down some more. It could be the price is right on, though. In October, we traded in our '06 Sport on the Roush and got about $15K trade-in for that. It had roughly 18K miles. We took a little hit on the trade-in because we got a great price on the Roush. You didn't mention which trim the Miata in question is. That can make a difference.

An 08 Roush...nice!! Since posting I did check the KBB online and They ranged from 18-19k. I didn't realize there were 6 diffrent trim packages for MX-5s but this was a 6speed so that helped narrow it down. Thanks for te reply!

I just looked at your sig. An LS6 Miata? Is that what I think it is?

It looks like you may have a decent price on the car, then. I've heard the used car prices may be starting to climb because the demand for them is much higher than for new cars. At some point, it will be more practical to buy new, again.

My wife and I started showing cars, a year ago. We started with a '90 RX-7 that has a LT1 V8 in it. It did so well that we decided to stay with the show thing. It's something we enjoy doing together, which is a rare thing. We're pretty opposite of each other. That's not all bad, either. Anyway, we decided to really get into it. I traded in her '02 Mustang GT vert and my '06 Miata Sport on the '08 Roush 427r. I needed to make some room in the garage, anyway. Then, I sold the RX-7 and picked up the LS6 Miata that was built by the friend of the guy who built the RX-7. It has a '04 LS6 V8 engine and T56 tranny. It's 440whp strong. Neat little car. You can find photos of it in a thread, here somewhere.
