Is a NAPA Gold #7002 oil filter OK for NA 2019 CX-5?

Mechanic today checked NAPA for, "good," oil filter for our 2019 CX-5, normally aspirated, (non-turbo), Mazda. NAPA said their # 7002 was fine. Can anyone confirm this? We've been using Mazda brand filters, ("value" line is all the dealer carries !), but dealer is 80 miles away and I'm looking for something I can get locally. Thoughts? Thanks, Dennis

The NAPA Gold line of oil filters are expensive for what is delivered: built with "enhanced cellulose" mesh filtration media (treated paper, in other words). It costs about 2x-3x as much as a cheapo paper media type, & these only see about 95% filtration efficiency at best.

The OEM/factory 1WPE-14-302 (K3804) from MAZDA also uses ordinary paper media, & just for comparison .......... runs ~$12.50.

I prefer synthetic media for its efficiency: 99+ %. .
Currently, I'm a huge fan of the Purolator BOSS PBL14612 ($15.99 delivered from Amazon).
Am also very partial to a MOBIL M1-108A ($11.44 at Walmart).

Above info is pasted from my archives/notes.
G' luck, & hope this helps a bit
