Is a NAPA Gold #7002 oil filter OK for NA 2019 CX-5?

Mechanic today checked NAPA for, "good," oil filter for our 2019 CX-5, normally aspirated, (non-turbo), Mazda. NAPA said their # 7002 was fine. Can anyone confirm this? We've been using Mazda brand filters, ("value" line is all the dealer carries !), but dealer is 80 miles away and I'm looking for something I can get locally. Thoughts? Thanks, Dennis

The NAPA Gold line of oil filters are expensive for what is delivered: built with "enhanced cellulose" filtration media (treated paper, in other words). It costs about 2x-3x as much as a cheapo paper media type, & these only see about 95% filtration efficiency at best:

Just for comparison: the OEM/factory 1WPE-14-302 (K3804) from MAZDA also uses paper media, & runs ~$12.50. The BOSCH 3300 is also a good choice: $8.07 on Amazon.

However, I very much prefer synthetic media for its efficiency: 99+ %.
Currently, I'm a huge fan of the Purolator BOSS PBL14612 ($15.99 delivered from Amazon).
Am also very partial to a MOBIL M1-108A ($11.44 at Walmart).

Above info is pasted from my archives/notes.
G' luck, & hope this helps a bit

Thank you; that is helpful. However, a part of what I'd like to find out is, is the NAPA 7002 a proper part number/replacement?? i.e. would it hurt anything? I do know there is a difference in oil filters between the CX-5 NA and the CX-5 Turbo applications. Where does the 7002 fit in that?

And, yes, I am considering ordering on line Mazda filters. But hard for the mechanic to make any margin on that, and since I'm too old to crawl under the car now, I have to rely on him.
