Ipod module just installed--not working, any suggestions please?

I have a 2011 cx9 with navigation and just shelled out >$200 and hours of my time for this ****ing ipod garbage. I installed everything very carefully, put the dash back together, and it doesn't work! It doesn't change ipod display to the mazda thing, doesn't charge, and doesn't get audio.

I disconnected the battery during the install, reconnected and let nav reboot. My stereo basically just acts like it doesn't have anything connected to it for an ipod (ipod button remains greyed out). Sometimes the "aux 1" button is available, but as soon as I press it the bluetooth button ungreys then it greys the aux 1 button.

I tried to troubleshoot, and pulled apart the dash this pm to see if it was truly getting power from the leech connectors they want you to attach to the top display bar wires... my multimeter says that the black and red wires from the kit are getting some very low volt signal, which is the same volt value as if I stab into the feed wires before the electrical leech.

Adding to the frustration, my bluetooth phone will connect and dial, but I no longer can play ad2p music through the bluetooth... I had this working before I started the project! I deleted and repaired the phone, but no luck. Calls work fine, and I can even pause/play and change tracks with my droid and pandora, but there is no multimedia audio such as music or game soundtrack (FM and AM work fine)!!!

Should I sent back the device for a new one (box and cable, not harnesses)? I ordered the parts TD91-79-CFZA and C9F4-V6-029, which seems correct according to this chart: http://mazdagear.com/ipod-universal-integration-module---cx-9.aspx

The chart only goes until 2010. Is there a chance it is no good for the 2011?

Can anybody shed some light? Thanks for any suggestions!

Updating my own thread, I called the online vendor that I ordered the 2 parts from, and they claimed that I probably needed the part C9F1-V6-261 which is some kind of switcher box. I thought that switcher box was for earlier mazdas, and optional for people who also wanted to retain function for the 3.5mm aux-in jack. One of the online sites says a description for it is: "Required when auxilary console input and iPod Integration Module, PhatNoise or SIRIUS are installed (Mazda3 - before Jan. 1, 2008 production)"
I'm just not sure I need another >$100 part, which would bring the total (online cheap prices) to $400 for a ****ing ipod playing capacity. Can somebody confirm that this "switcher box" is in fact only for the older mazdas?
I'm going to try to have them take back the TD91-79-CFZA and exchange it for a new one, hopefully that will do it.

I don't understand what you meant by not charging or not showing the ipod icon? You have to connect an ipod/iphone to the connector in order for the icon to show up. If your ipod/iphone battery is drained (i.e. completely dead), you will need to wait till it is charged to >5% before the icon will show up on the dash screen.

So, basically, no ipod/iphone connected, no icon on screen. B/T audio is a different issue, you have to go through the menu and verify that your phone is connected to do B/T audio. Mine works just fine.

Sorry if that wasn't clear... even though my ipod is connected, nothing happens. Ipod is fully charged, working, but when I plug it in to the car's connection cable the "mazda" logo doesn't show up on the ipod screen, the ipod icon on the nav audio select is greyed out, there is no audio (obviously) coming through the system from the ipod, and the ipod is not charging.

My bluetooth was working fine for streaming bluetooth audio, but now it establishes a connection but provides no audio. The mazda nav stereo "sees" the phone and lets me pause/skip tracks, etc, but no audio. Prior to my install attempt of the ipod harness/box/cable it worked fine. I have tried many times to delete the bt pairing on phone and car and then re-establish (which is easy to reset), but the problem persists. I still have telephone call working by bluetooth. I wish I had another bluetooth streaming device to troubleshoot but I don't.

I'm assuming everything has a common thread. I'm going to return and replace my mazda ipod box/cable to see if that works, hopefully... if not that, then maybe I replace the harness, but this is getting painful.
