Ok, so i removed the squashed Ram Air thingie from my intake, and there is a round tube. The tube goes down into what looks like a resevior. Does anyone know what that is?

Isn't that the piece that prevents water from passing through? I think there is a hole near the bottom or something to let it drain if I remember correctly...

most of that stuff just aids in making the intake sound quieter.

Exactly, i mean, i dont want to remove it if its vital to the engine. Especially if it helps keep water out of my intake.

You are probably referring to the intake silencer. it's basically just a big muffler of sorts for your intake. Take it out if you want some nicer intake sound.

That is there to prevent water from entering your intake. I believe it's called a drip tube or something like that.
