Intake Manifold Modifications.....

Ahhh, here is where I chime in about the vacuum reservior built into the intake manifold! =) This is rather ingenuous, actually! There is a little green check valve under the upper intake manifold that LOOKS like it goes FROM the intake manifold runners TO the intake manifold again... HOWEVER, this actually goes into the small, triangualar openings underneath the top intake half. This is the vacuum reservior. The check valve makes the triangular area stay at vacuum, as when you hit 0 vac or positive boost, the check valve closes off the path to the chamber. This being said, that chamber is tapped into by the little outlet pipe that powers the VICS/VTCS... Ingenious, no? =) I thought so, personally!

gotchya... the vacuum thing becomes the important factor... Hmm.. I may have to make a mechanical driver for that instead of the vacuum driver... as I'll always be boosting by the good rpm's most likely and I don't want those runners closed all the time.

the vics is kept closed by the solenoid and vacuum just helps it. when the solenoid switches the lack of vacuum opens the vics because the vics is spring loaded.

try turning on and off the car (to run only, not start) and you'll hear (and see) the vics opening and closeing as you go from start to accessories

no s***... :) wow everyone is fast from nowhere... so the word is the MSD thing WILL work then eh? or my aux trigger on my Microtech.

Okay according to esi the vics changes over at 5,250rpm....

Tune your b**** up! =)

You need a standalone or some s***, man. =) You're pushing rather heavy amounts of air through that engine! I'll catch up... Wait 'till my IRTB's are done! ;) You know... Some time after I start them. x.x And have the money!

Yep, according to the factory service manual and my web page on porting, it's 5250rpm... Woah... I just noticed that that's strangely close to the 'magic number', 5252...

vtcs only activates below 3000rpm at ect temps below 149*f....

Yeah, I was talking about VICS... VTCS is for startup emissions, but none of us have to worry about that, 'cause none of us have that anymore, right? ;) Gooooood.

Oh, wait, that's right... BlackZoomZoom's still got it... 'Cause, ya know, his car is stock. HAH! Right. ;)
