the 2.5 is just an impreza...the WRX is 2.0 turbo impreza

Nope, the WRX has had a 2.5 turbo engine for a few years now. It came in with the new body style. The article tests a 2.0 turbo which is an engine we do not get in the US.

In Japan, the WRX, I believe STI and Legacy all have 2.0 turbos. In the US, they all have 2.5 turbos.

2005 WRX is a 2.0L Turbo and STI is a 2.5L Turbo.

To actually comment on the article, I would own one. All that torque early in the powerband is really good for daily driving, I think.

Seems like a cool drive-around wagon. I see how it may lose its current fans with a drastic change like that.

I am still a little worried. Hearing from some of my scubie friends they are trashing a lot of what they are seeing, but we will have to wait for the sti to get a final verdict I guess.

2008 Lexus IS-F

I rubbed my eyes when I saw this. Wow! But it will probably be an EXPENSIVE car.

The Japanese automakers first entry into the true performance sedan segment looks on paper to be a real challenger. The V-6available with 306 horsepower in the IS350is ditched in favor of a 5.0-liter direct-injected V8 engine delivering over 350 lb-ft of torque, along with a 0-to-60 time below 4.9 seconds. The engine is teamed with with the worlds first eight-speed direct sport-shift transmission with paddle shifters that snaps quickly and crisply between gears, upshifting within a tenth of a second (revised version of the LS460s tranny). The torque converter is also revised for quicker shifts and rev-matched downshifts. The IS-F will also be good for burnouts to do the NHRA proud, as Lexuss VDIM traction control finally comes with an honest-to-mashed-potatoes Off setting.

that car is like a mullet... business in the front party in the back...

I've said it before. All subaru needs to do to make me appreciate the current WRX is release a newer uglier one. This has held true for the past 4 changes.

BUGEYE FTW!

from what i've read, the u.s. get 's a 2.5 liter turbo (since 06) while everyone else gets the 2.0. the regular impreza still has its 2.5L. and there's no more wrx in japan. it's called the impreza s-gt.

and minus the tails and grill, i think it looks pretty sweet. especially in that white.

i'm not digging the new tail lights either and the fact that subaru is using the legacy engine in the wrx now since there is a bigger aftermarket for the 2.0L boxer engine. I am looking forward to seeing how the STI stacks up against the new
Evo X.
