Ideal Tires for the Eunos Cosmo?

I'm planning on replacing my front tires which has got me thinking about tires...I replaced the rears a few years ago with Bridgestone Potenza RE050 (255/35R18) and they've been great...I would really like to know from the EC Community...What do you think are ideal tires for the Eunos Cosmo? When I say "ideal", I mean tires that have the best balance of Ultra High Performance + Comfort + Low Road Noise + Long Life.

Best Bang for the Buck as well as Top of The Line suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

While not on an Cosmo, we've been running the Continental DWS series tires on our cars for over two years now and I can tell you that overall, they are GREAT!!
They offer excellent dry and wet grip. I even made it to work in the snow last year and that's a first for my Mazda. They grip so well that it's almost impossible to break them loose, and I haven't hydro-planed even once!!
The ride and noise also excellent. In fact I had to add a few psi over the last set I was running to stiffen them up a bit.
Wear is rated @ 540, IIRC, and ours are doing very well w/approx 27k miles each on them, 6-7/32" left... regularly rotated, of course.
They are a "W" rated for 180+mph.
When I bought ours (205/60-16's and 225/45-17's,) the price was a very reasonable +/-$120 ea.
The only (ONLY) thing I would change on these tires is a quicker steering response, but for us, I'll deal with that if its the only issue.
Overall, I would highly recommend these tires to anyone using their car as a DD. Racing? Not so much.
That's my story, and I'm stickin'to it.

I was having trouble with wearing out tires too quickly on both my old '03 Protege and my current '10 Mz3, and my mechanic recommended that I switch to the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum, rated 600 for wear and W for speed. I made the switch, and I love them for the great balance of comfort, low road noise, and tread life, just as you are looking for. I've had them on my 3 for over 32,000 miles but still have nearly 50% tread left (rotated roughly every 5,000 mi.). The only downsides are that they don't seem to be available in the size you listed (closest I found is 255/40R18) and, of course, they don't respond quite as well as a more performance-oriented tire. I can definitely live with that tradeoff, however, because they are so much quieter and last so much longer than any other tire I've ever had.

If you do end up going with the Continentals, hit up Pero del Sol... PM coming.

MIchellin PS3 on my cosmo. 235 x 18in. Not the cheapest tyres but i got a good deal on them and couldnt be happier. Awesome grip wet and dry, very smooth and no noise at all.

Cool...Thanks for all the feedback...Depending on the condition of my rear tires and what's easily available here in Japan...I may or may not stick with Bridgestone...I am glad to know you fellas vouch for Continental, Kumho and Michelin. (thumb)

So Antoine, which did you end up going with? I don't know if Contis are available in Japan, but Kumho and Michelin are. Michelin's been kicking butt in the Japan GT racing series, esp. in the wet.

Yokohama DNA S.drive...They were recommended by the tuning shop I go to now (TCP Magic). So far, I like them...Great confidence inspiring traction...The only down-side is...They are quite expensive!
