Anyone know if a volvo 6speed of the new s series would match the 2.3. i could go for a 6 speed when hiboost completes there turbo in the next 30 years

that volvo 5cylinder engine is way different from the 3's engine, I doubt you could get the two to bolt to each other

yeah **** hiboost for taking their sweet time, im going with NOS!!!111!!1!!ONE!!!WTF!!!

I don't think that this would work for the reasons stated above. But I'm sure that something will be available for our 3's that will strengthen the driveline.

You are a ******* moron. (chair) (gtfo)
Next time if you decide to post in a thread try and act like you have something intelligent to say and stop bashing Hi-boost. They are doing the best they can and I'm sure that the Kit will be awesome when it does come out.

do you know what sarcasm is? Probably not since you live in one of the shittiest states in the union. Go play in your corn field, not like there is much else you could do anyways.

ok so now for something USEFUL to be posted...

Curacer, if you find a 6 speed transmission that'll fit our car.. I'd be the second name on the list for a group buy! :D

I'm in 100% agreement.....ALWAYS on the expressway, (not killing it and revving right up to the redline--just normal heavy driving), I'm in 5th gear...going 90+ and I'm always wishing I had a 6th gear, and no speed limiter...just to have some more fun....I know I could utilize more of the powerband, I've heard people talking about hitting the 117 limit in 4th gear...I havent taken it to that extreme, but I have hit the 117 in 5th.., and it leaves me longing for another gear....On the flip side, I'm not sure how often I'd be going 130+MPH in 6th gear on the daily drive, or for that matter I think it'd even be pretty hard to do it on the track....But still cool to know you CAN...so count me in, even though I think our names will be on this "list" for quite some time....But again, I'm ALL in if someone can find it and prove it works...

hell, i never wanna go above sixty. i just want the turbo and 6 speed to say my 3 is cooler than yours

actually my purpose isn't for top speed, I've had my 3 on a track, and I only used 2nd and 3rd gear, plus 1st for a very slow speed hairpin. 2nd is very very tall, 3rd is a little too tall. If we could get a transmission with a bit shorter 2nd and 3rd to bring 4th down into a useable range on a track, that would leave us some space to have 5th and 6th as 'accelerating' and 'cruising' gears on the highway.... but that's just my dream of the perfect transmission :)

Not like Illinois is much better. Yeah I live in Nebraska, yeah I know it sucks, but I'm damn glad I don't have to live in Illinois with an ignorant ass like you. But anyways I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you about this as I am bigger person than that and I really don't care what your opinion is. Just for the record sarcasm is noted by tone of voice, that's kinda hard to recognize on a forum which would be writen language not spoken don't ya think? (hand)

I'm with what Airman jack says. I think that if they would shorten 4th and then add a 6th so that we could have it for cruising that would be optimal and would be the ideal transmission.

Exactly... All our 3's need closer ratio transmissions.

Every time we shift, our RPM's drop well below the power band. Ideally we should be able to shift from the top of the powerband, and the next gear start at the bottom of the power band.

Unfortunately, this is not the case with the 3.
