Hmm, still interested. Supercharger seems more reliable then turbo. Also like the idea of being able to "turn" boost on and off with the clutch type charger. Decisions suck.

^with the right electronics you can hook a switch to your throttle

Mercedes did this, the only time the supercharger turned on was when the driver did WOT.

why not try twincharging!!!

you would be the first on an FSDE engine!!!

+ 1 i thought there was only turbo kits for our cars
does any1 else have this on their protege?
i think it would be awesome have a supercharged protege
if only i had the money

The reason you didn't hear about this is because it's a one-off. Go on his cardomain and read about it. There are/were supercharger kits for the protege but they are impossible to acquire. This is a great opportunity for someone

I remember reading about this one, did u see 11-13 psi on a gauge too?
Wish I could grab this.

the most I saw was 9.5psi, I seem to have some kind of leak in the IAC and or throttle body, this is due to the old stock parts. it will reach 11-13psi, due to math equations on pulley ratios and size of the motor. a guy in England build a 6 inch pulley and seen 8psi consistently and a stock pully @ 5.5inchs is about 4.5psi.

unless you're changing the crank pulley, a SMALLER pulley on the supercharger should mean MORE boost... not less.

you are correct, because the supercharger is clutch it can't easily be changed to a smaller diameter I am increasing the crank pulley from 5.5inches to 6.7inches this will give you more boost

gotcha. so you're overdriving the accessories... first time I've heard of that! hope it doesn't have negative consiquenses on the alternator. did you happen to have a volt gauge on it?

did you notice where the belt comes from? the inner belt does the alternator and water pump.

the outer belt runs the.....power steering, and AC compressor

so only the power steering is getting over drived, and it has not given me any troubles.

because if you look at my overdrive pully only the outer ring is 6.7 inches and the inner ring is stock

can't see the pics at work... my bad. thanks for clearing it up though! worse case, get an underdrive PS pulley to bring it back (closer at least) to stock..

Nice setup!

Following on from the post about air/water intercooler - did the blower unit itself get much heatsoak? Do you think there would be any significant benefit in using any kind of intercooler? Any intake temp data?

Cheers :)
