i want to get a gear box for the sport 20

hey peeps i recently purchased a 01 sport 20... it's still fully "stock" with the tiptronic trans, thats nice an everyting but driving a automatic car jus puts me to sleep an is no fun (especially when i want to do sum mods). i need help, advice, info... need 2 get a good lsd 5fwd gear box with a propper clutch pressure plate an flywheel, basically a full conversion kit. firstly i need to know where it is i can purchace these items an at what kind of expence... i dont know much bout this car as yet but i am learning

is your sport20 FWD or 4WD? if it's FWD, then good luck because the only manuals are the 4WD ones... a swap usually involves an ECU change and rewiring, but you *may be* able to get away with not changing those parts

what country are you in? export models of the BJ come in FWD 2.0l manual, so you can get parts fromthere

hummm damn i got a FWD, i would have loved to get the 4WD but a soprt 20 is hard enough to get an the 4WD edition is even harder to get in my country... i'm from trinidad. there are sum bj's that i saw with the 2.0l manual, guess i'll have to search d scrap yards from top to bottom because i think that doing a swap with a 4WD would cost me alot... but from what u say "xport models of the BJ come in FWD 2.0l manual, so you can get parts fromthere" i am speculating that i can use the gearbox from that but would just have to make sum modifications an mionor swaps??? i REALLY wanna get a gearbox for this car... what do u advise i do???

It is a pretty extensive swap. You can keep your ECU, it works anyway, ATX ECU works on manual transmission, but not MTX ECU on an auto.
You'll need the whole shifter assembly, console, driveshafts, pedals, clutch master cylinder and piping, the 3 motor mounts that bolt up to the transmission, flywheel, clutch, maybe end plate and oilpan.
It would cheaper to buy a manual and sell yours, but it can be done.

Yeah man, you could have a turbo kit for what you will spend. You need to sell your ride or learn to live with it.

hummm i'll have to think bout this... cause i really lik my car but i guess i'll have to look for a 4WD sport 20 with gearbox... if i cant get then i guess i wud jus do the mods i wanna do an leave her automatic
