Hypertech question??

That what I keep hearing. The only mods I am going to do it a RMM, TIP, SRI, BPV and TMIC. Do I need to worry about thing with just those mods? or should I be fairly safe. Don't really want to get a dashhawk plus wouldnt even know what I was looking at if I got one.(if I need one I could learn pretty fast what is safe and not)

Also with those mods would I need to get one step colder spark plugs?
As suggested, definitely purchase a boost gauge. With the mods you plan to do, a Dashawk would be helpful, but not necessary.Lastly, the tune was designed to run with OEM plugs, so 1 step colder plugs are not needed.

Yea I already got a boost gauge, first thing I did. Maybe I will get a dashhawk, will need to read up on what to monitor and what numbers are safe and which I should look out for, but that will be def down the road, another reason I am very interested in the HT tune is the back to stock, also why I am only modding with things that can be easily taken off since I got an extended warranty.

Well guys just got back from the dyno and EH not really impressed. Yes the overall drive of the car is a lot better but the numbers are,, You decide,

HT Tune( CP-E Nano) WHP 284@5300 and WTQ 291@4800, I really thought I would have hit over 300. :(

Stock was WHP 273@5500 and WTQ 284@4600..
So I only picked up 11 WHP and 7 WTQ with the HT..Not what I was expecting at all.

The Tuner said the HT A/F was unsafe being that rich at 5200 its in the 9's, The stock tunes A/F looked a little better staying in the 11's 5600. Either way he told me the car would have broken well into the 300's if the A/F was not so "pig rich.

But maybe the HT only shines on a stock car. The other car with me made on HT( MSP CAI Tune) 271 WHP and 299 WTQ!! And shock his numbers where down to 236WHP and 259 WTQ.
Special thanx to Tony and all the guys at Boston Dyno :)

anm6, thanks for the info on your dyno runs, very interesting! I should have tried to get up there, I have been home all week in RI (I am stationed in MD most of the year). The biggest thing I have noticed from the HT (even though I have only had it for about 4 days) is the increased boost in 1st and 2nd and power all the way to redline. Alas, those are the major things about the car that irked me before the tune....so yea...HT was a worthwhile investment.

Darth is right.

If you can afford it, the ability to monitor a lot of different parameters, including waste gate duty, AFR's and long term fuel trims can be very helpful and may be critical if OP goes further in his mods. Dash Hawk is the best way to do that at a reasonable price.

My suggestion of "get a boost gauge ASAP" is an absolute minimum for protection. It was not intended to be anything more than that.

Be aware that dash hawk is NOT supported by Win7

I am in the process of setting up an old mobo/proc with a copy of ME i hope to locate in the closet just for legacy programs like the UNsupported DH

Hypertech is totally 64bit freindly
