I think i may have an idea of what i'm talking about as a special forces operator and medic.
so do you recomend anyhting other than the obvious eating healthy and working out? any supplememnts or vitamins or anything?CHICO2003 said:I read the first couple pages... and the last few posts. I doubt anyone will actually seriously consider what I'm about to say but... I'll say it anyway.
As a PT, I feel people rely far too heavily on supplements. Hydroxycut and all the others are essentially caffeine pills. Read the label and note the exborbatant amount of caffeine and ask yourself if you really need to load yourself with that garbage. You mentioned the uneasy feeling the ephedra version gave you. While this probably won't be at that level, you'll definitely experience some negative side-effects. Will they give you more energy? Absolutely. Will it come at the risk of 'crashing' after the drug wears off? Most definitely.
Here's the bottom line. People work out to look better first and get healthier second. This is wrong. If one were to focus on simply being as healthy and fit as they can be, naturally they'd end up looking good as well. The problem is, they'd certainly have to make some changes in the way they obtain their goals. Loading your body with garbage the meathead at GNC suggested doesn't exactly put your body's health first. There are far better (and cheaper) ways of getting the energy you need in order to work out harder and thus raise your metabolism. That's what this is all about in the end. Ignore those before and after photos. What they're not telling you is that those people were part of a massive program that included a regimented training program. That's where their results came from. Not some caffeine pill.
opinion noted, thanks for the inputCHICO2003 said:I read the first couple pages... and the last few posts. I doubt anyone will actually seriously consider what I'm about to say but... I'll say it anyway.

thanks. i think my main problem is i want everything yesterday. it's only been a month back for me (actually a month and 2 days come to think about it) after a few months of eating out and just eating whatever and not exercising. i'm sure in another month or 2 i'll be happier with the results.SenorCorwin said:Jred i think all you need is a good diet and different cardio machines... staying away from the fats and sugars like mentioned.
Some ideas... Almonds, spinach, fish, chicken, broc, natural peanut butter and the regular oatmeal. Like witchdokter stated you want 1-1.5 grams per pound but try mixing it with water. If you want smoothies try water, ice, fat-free yogart or bananna with a scoop of peanut butter.
Creatine prob wont do you any good ethier, youll prob retain more water. Al though meal replacement are good too, i like Metrx packets.
i eat taco bell every once in a while, it feels healthier to me than mcdonald's. when i eat it though i only get the normal chicken or beef tacos, so it's just lettuce, cheese and meat, not crazy sauces or anythingSuper Mario said:just eat alot of taco bell and then shoot yourself when you think you get too fat.
