Hwy 9 Fun Run!

We oughtta drag Julie and Daisy to the next Dave and Buster's meet. I still have a crapload of credits there.

That game kicked some ass! We do need to go back and have more rounds! hehehe. Make sure I can race the Alaska guy!!

WOOOOH!!! Dave and Busters! I like to have a few shots of Jamesons and go fly the Jet Airliner Simulator. Just like being a real pilot!

Hi Julie!

If you want something that's going to be a pure SPL system, those two should work together. However I wouldn't expect the best SQ from it. A 15" sub is an awful big sub for SQ. Get the dual 4 ohm sub and you'll be running a 2 ohm load on your amplifier (more stable than 1 ohm operation imho) You could get the dual 2 ohm sub, and run 1 ohm on the amp, but that's not what I would recommend unless going for an all out DB drag SPL system.

oops.(crazy) I meant to link the same sub, but a 10". I already have it, and it's dual 2ohm.

Thanks for the input, Jared!

I'm basically looking for a relatively inexpensive amp to run my sub.

Hifonics, Orion and Memphis seem to have the best deals as far as i can find.

Dual 2ohm You should still be able to wire it up to that amp. I am a little bothered that it doesn't give RMS power numbers anywhere for that amp (not on the auction, or on the hifonics site) But it should be plenty of power RMS for that one sub, especially if it's a dual 2ohm.

That's a very good point about the RMS wattage. One that I hadn't noticed. I've never heard a Hifonics amp, but a few people have told me that they're pretty nice...maybe I'll just stick with what I've personally heard.
Thanks(drinks)

Hey natey, do your flt-a2's make any weird clunking noises ever? Also, do you get any weird steering issues? When I turn hard right the steering stays cocked to the right for a little.... I hate these ******* things. Well, I actually hate the guy that sold them to me.

I've never had either one of those things happen to me, Brian. (uhm)
I clunk sometimes, but it's my rear swaybar. A little lithium grease and I'm good to go for another couple months.

Have you ever had your car corner weighted? Maybe one half of the car is a tiny bit higher than the other. That could be the deal with your car pulling to the right. Good luck!
If you're out of ideas, BlueMP5Dave is the guy i got my JICs from, and he's pretty damn knowledgable about them as far as installation goes. Maybe he could clear things up for you.

You said your sub was a dual voice coil, 2ohm sub right?

That means depending on how you wire up your single sub, you'll have either a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load.

From what I can tell, the MA Audio amp is not 1ohm stable, and therefore you would have to wire in series and run it at 4ohms, and it's only 400w RMS @ 4ohms.

The US Acoustics is the better amp of the two, especially since it appers to be 1ohm stable, however it's only 300w RMS @ 4ohms.

What is your sub rated in terms of peak and RMS handling?

D2 likely means it's a dual voice coil, @ 2ohms. The 500w could refer to RMS or Peak. Is there a model number on the back of the magnet?

^Edited^

That was what 's written on the magnet. D2 500W. One thing I can say is that the sub is heavy as hell. The magnet is pretty damn big.
