Humming sound?

Hi all, after about 3 weeks I started hearing a very low resonance humming sound while driving. Doesn't matter if wheels are turned or not. Its not constant whoooooooooo but more like a ... whoooo whoooo whoooo (that part IS constant at almost any speed). Coming from the front perhaps around the drivers side. Also within the last few days taking off from a start in 1st gear I hear a hum like resonance for a few seconds. This doesn't happen every time though, but while driving the whooo whooo whooo thing happens every day. Even heard the hum while I was stopped and the car rolled backwards ever so slightly, I heard a whooooooooo until I applied the brakes.
Whats up with this? I've read a couple posts of folks reporting the same but not really seeing a definate answers. This happens completely off the brakes regardless of steering wheel position. Anyone fix this or have an answer yet? Tks, Mike

The Sound could be the engine..Does it go away when you turn the key off..

Sounds like your brakes. How many miles do you have on the car?

1200 miles. Had it at the dealer today for the engine mount recall and they of course could not find anything nor hear anything wrong. Pulled in my driveway once home and I hear whhoooooooooooooo as I slowly pull in the garage.

Problem is, I cant duplicate it every single time when pulling away from a stop and couldn't duplicate it in front of the service manager. They also didn't put back on the battery cover fully and broke the tab on the plastic cover next to the battery cover which covers up some wiring, etc. Scratched my MS CAI also. I called and filed a complaint with the GM and I'm supposed to call back tomorrow morning.

F'n sucks for the first time at the dealer.

i had a wierd whoo whoo sound like u described but it was only when i was turning either left or right and taking off from a stop in first gear and sometimes thru 2nd, they changed a bunch of s*** bearings and control arms few other things and the sound is gone...if its making the sound constantly then im not sure what it could be but many have said brakes do a similar noise but u have 1200 miles so it should be gone if anything.....

Hey Clos561, I'm guessing my symptoms are like yours. My noise yesterday was worse when my wheels were turned to pull in the driveway, same happened over the weekend. Any chance you still have the repair invoice? I'd be curious to see what it said so I could advise my dumbass dealer more exact info. Thanks, Mike
