im taking my bumper off and i was wondering if there was anything i need to know, i dont actually know where all of the bolts are that hold it on. can anybody let me know so i dont have to do more than needed? thanks

The most important thing to watch are the little tabs under the headlights I believe there are two under each one. Do yourself a favor and have a friend help when you need to get it back on. It's a b**** with only two hands.

Search the how-to section for painting the P5 headlights. There are step by step instructions with pics for taking off the bumper.

frm what ive heard its quite a tedious process..

It's really, really easy. It only takes 10 minutes.

-simply take all the screws off the splash guard (6 on each side) that are connected to the front bumper. you might have to turn the wheel slightly to make the screwdriver get the right angle.
-remove the 2 large screws + 2 large clips that hold the front upper grill in place
-hold the splash guard out of the way and remove the 2 screws near the headlight under the front bumper cover(on both sides, duh!)
-use a small flat head screw driver to release the front bumper from the clip underneath the corner of each headight
-pull

You may have to unclip a couple connectors for your fog + turn signal lights... I wouldn't know because I don't have em.

well removing it isnt too bad. however if it's your first time it may take a while. just be careful removing the clips near the headlights as not to snap em and have to replace em.

Some of the nylon screws on the wheel well liners are a pain to remove. It helps to have a very stubby Philips head screwdriver. I ended up using one on a Swiss Army knife so it was only 2" from tip to the back. That cleared the front wheels, but only barely. Even then some of the screws were kind of stripped and would just spin around and around and not come out. Putting a little sideways pressure on the screwhead with a finger was usually enough to give it enough bite to screw out. You don't have to take the wheel well liners all the way off, just loosen them up to about the top of the front wheels. I eventually replaced a lot of those nylon screw fastener thingies, and they were not cheap from the dealer, but were a funny size not available at Pepboys or Kragens.

And yes, be really careful with those clips just posterior to, and slightly underneath, the headlights. They are made of a really fragile plastic and are easy to break. When I bought my car used both of them were broken, hence my familiarity with removing the bumper!

It isn't hard to do this but it would have helped a lot to have had a lift or some jackstands to obtain a little bit more space to work. There isn't a lot of clearance under the front bumper for one's head otherwise, and good luck getting the screws out from under there by feel.

Check the How-to under "How to black out headlights....." It shows a pretty good run down of how to take it off....It's really easy...

hey guys i really appreciate all of your help, ill look up the how to on the headlights, funny thing is that i have but ive been so absent minded lately.

in case you missed it...

DON'T FORGET THE 2 SCREWS UNDER THE HEADLIGHTS! very important. But it's wicked easy.
