HOW-TO: WGA (wastegate actuator) replacement.

The hardest part about it all is getting that damned clip off the actuator arm. The rest is cake, i HIGHLY suggest buying a stubby rathceting wrench for the bracket bolts. Also, when i installed mine i clocked so that the vac line nipple is facing the front of the engine bay, makes changing that line alot easier.

im lucky, i get to put the wga on with the manifold/turbo and etc off the engine cause im turbo'ing my p5! so this should take me about 10 minutes ahaha. One quick question though, i have a accuboost manual boost controller, it would be smart to just install that and the wga and set the mbc to 8 just to be safe?

it will already be at 9...or close to it..

im running 9.5 with no boost controller

...thats what scares me, most ppl say they are running 8 psi. Im also getting a s.s afc installed at the time, would the stock super map be safe if i was running 9 psi?

apparently yes, im running 9.5 with no AFC yet.. but not driving much..

my AFC is in the mail though.

im running 9- 9.5 - 10 depending on the gear and i got a ctless mid pipe and a SMIC...no MBC or EBC... i CAN'T go lower.. be wise in your decision..

anyways, you got no choice.. the OEM WGA will fookered one day.

dont go putting a MBC over this if you want to run +/- 9 psi.. it will only make it spike.. like this there is almost no spikes... atleast i didn't see some yet.. maybe a going to 10 and setting down to 9.5..

i used to run 10 psi super safe without AFC
the AFR always kept at 9.8 - 10.2...super rich!
with the afc now i was able to safely put them up to 11.5 for more power!

get this, and tape it on the tip of a long ratchet extension. i got the clip in on the second try it was the EASIEST part lol

search for e-clip tool..you'll see what i mean..

Thanks a lot I hope this goes smooth and well

took me 3 hours..

removed heat shield, hot pipe.. jacked the car on both side in the front real high..

used a few 1/4 extensions and ratchet to get to the back nut holding the WGA.. the front can be done easily..

the back nut was done with the extensions and that little flexible extension for ratchets... i put eletric tape on it so it wouldn't bend 90 degrees and not be able to turn..

sure it took time but keep in mind it will take time.. and it will go smooth :)

Lol well I have time I just want to do it right. I'm only concerned about putting the wga back in right

I removed the heat shield and unscrewed both nuts but couldn't remove the damn clip... I'm going to go tomorrow morning and buy one to see if it will help.

from under the car,and the car jacked way up, with a LONG (12" atleast) 3/8" ratchet extension with that tool duct taped to the tip of it..in a VERY solid manner..

with this method, i took 30 seconds. .. i just reached up and aimed it right.

it went "CLICK*.. :)

damn ive had bad luck i havnt been able to get the damn clip out and havnt been able to find the e clip tool
