How To: Kill your turkey with stock pipes

...Can you use any type of BOV or does it only work with the HKS...

TurboXS RFL, and Greddy type-s have both worked to kill the surge on discreet's setup that is similar to this.

Just use the guides and get creative to make them work for your application.

Hey, ZOOM would the same app work if i mounted the flange on the other side of the mounting bracket.... where the straight long section is in front of the battery...
THANX MJG

Pretty much on topic still.... BOV prices. I've looked a bit on Dogpile and man these buggers are like 200.
not sure it's worth it to get rid of the turkey. I can hear my wife, "200 for what?!" to listen to that hissing?

I realize what they are confused about,

-You take the plug, drill out the "bottom"
-Slide one of the "washers" onto the end, pushing it down.
-Cut the hole in the IC
-Take the plug with the washer on it and push it through the large open end and poke it up through the hole you drilled into the IC WITH the glue on the over lap (sorta preventing it from just falling it through the drilled hole).
-now slide the other washer down onto the plug. Creating a sandwhich of Plug/washer/glue/IC/glue/washer.
-let it dry
-push the hose down on the "nipple" so you have a "female" end to slide the BOV with the mitsu "male" end.
-Done pretty much.....run the vacumn line.

This right Mach 3.5 Turbo?

Yes thats what I was thiniking but when he wrote 1/4 inch id it confused me about the washers.

BTW Great Idea this is gunna be my first mod.

I as well with the woman 200 dollars to make your car sound like its broken with a leak.

Aight, picture time. I went back to lowes and got some more washers. Turns out they're actually for the little flappy thing in your toilet. Cool eh? Anyway, the washers are made of rubber. I can't say anything for other BOVs, but I assume they'd all work the same if they have the same kind of hose connection. Basically my instructions just creates a nipple to attach whatever you want. You could use a bigger or smaller one if you chose as well, but the washers I got wouldn't fit. The ones I used (in the pic) are just 58 cents apiece.

This is what I mean by sliding one washer down the insert plug.
Washer on plug

Here's the other one slid down near it. Imagine the curvature of the IC pipe between the rubber washers and you get the idea. You really don't have much of it sticking into the pipe, maybe a 1/4" or so. And when I said 1/4 inch earlier when referring to the ID of the washers, I mean "1 and 1/4" inch, my bad. I went back and updated it.
Both washers on plug

So you can see that the rubber probably doesn't quite seal up the hole by itself. That's why I slathered both sides in epoxy. And I mean slathered. Dump and assload on there, then just wipe off the excess. Fill in them gaps! The vacuum line I cut is the little tiny one coming out the top of the intake manifold. It's like 3 inches at the most. Look and you'll find it.

now i totally understand dude!! thank you a million times for the pioneering!! i will do this as soon as i can, i hope soon!!!

i had a question i looked under the hood and there is not too much space for my bov there. did u relocate the wire thing tosomewhere else?

mikeeee - I assume you mean the thing that screwed into the top of the IC pipe. I just let it hang, then zip tied it to something else. It's really flexible if you take it off, I think it's just vacuum lines and wires. I'll try and find a more elegant solution within a short time, but it's fine in the meantime.

If anyone tries this themselves, post some picture :D. I want to see how other's setups work as well, I'm sure there are many ways to do this. Good luck all

you can find a flange there too..i just bought the blitz style one there with the flange for 110.00 shipped..its a loud one too 119db..

Ahhhhh sorry, I thought we were on the same site, will do. Jesus you should have seen me trying to find a G D search on that site!
