How-To: Kill Clunk Cheap!!

polyurathane won't wear out like soft rubber mazda uses. it should last the life if your car if you grease it every year.

Mazda went through 5 sets of bushings trying to figure out how to prevent them from tearing apart. If polyurathane was the answer I'm sure they would have used them.

I know from my stock bushings that when I grease them the clunk/squeek disappears. In a few weeks it returns. If you are going to order new bushings, get the ones from Energy Suspension that you can grease... ala grease nipple.

Only time can tell, will have to give you proof at 15k miles which is when my stock replecements gave out. I do have the old broken ones I'll snap a few pics and update the thread.

Urethane fixed my motor mounts from breaking.

I like nipples (thumb) but seriously that will be better.

for those still under warranty... why not just bring it in to the dealer?
These are stiffer than stock just like motor mounts made out of Urethane.

Do I have to apply for something to get this moved to the how to section?

A VISA... no wait thats for a different country... hummm not sure, is this truly a how-to..... I think this is more of a "this is what I did.. hope it works" thread...

I though all how to's were a set of instructions on how to do something that you had already done? And if the bushings brake or not then that's a different story I personally have not read on this forum about a broken Urethane bushing on niether on motor mounts nor sway bars as a matter of fact noone has posted on this thread "I've been running this setup for xxK miles" so there's a good chance that not a lot of people have done it. But I guess you're very confident on Mazda's rubber bushings so please enjoy them.

evolv - I would have to agree with everything you said. IMO the Delsing Motorsports rear bracket is the only long term fix you will find. With the bushings located so far towards the center the bar is allowed to bend and flex, which wears out the bushing. IMO it's only a matter of time until your poly bushings do the same.

Sadly, the Delsing brackets are not readily available at the moment. He sold the design rights to me and I will be producing them soon. I have had some delays because of some of the original CAD Drawings that are missing, but I will try to get things taken care of after my regular job. My original goal was to have a run of brackets in Jan, but my new goal is around spring.

im going to goop the space between the bushings to the sway bar tomorrow. i think it's soft enough to allow enough jiggle room. good idea?

i got the bushings in the mail, too bad my car doesn't f'n work, so i won't get to try them out until my engine rebuild

condolences. doin a junkyard rebuild or what?

Nick from MPI is gonna do it for me. Using a core from yeah probably a junk car or whatever, stock cams etc. Manley rods, CP pistons. Port polish everything, including the head. Not sure about valves, never asked about those.

got here today!
