How-To: Kill Clunk Cheap!!

how much better does the bar respond after the bracket is on there...just plain geometry tells me it would be stronger

Pontiac- wider is better (hah)

mine bushings fell apart and the swaybar was grinding into the bracket. warranty covered it

Always had a problem with Great Neck Mazda and Wantagh Mazda. They would take the car out for a short drive and then report nothing is wrong at all. At least now, I don't have to worry about the clunk anymore (dave's klunk fix)
Ditto: Dbrackets all the way... :)

I tried to order them, but I couldn't.It kept telling me to select shipping method, but I could.there were no shipping options.

I put my regular wheels and tires back on today and took the winter steelies off and went for a drive... OMG. This thing handels AMAZING. I mean, it was really good before, but the difference the bushings made really is noticeable. The car felt dead on in the turns and turn in was instant.

The bar will function correctly. That is to say in the stock setup the bar is partially bent before it rotates. That's what ruins the bushings. With the bracket, the bar is forced to rotate as it was meant to and no unusual wear to the bushings occur. The result is a stiffer rear end and better handling.

Cool stuff those were my first impressions but I thought it was all in my head, guess not.

Put my New bushing in today and said Goodbye to the Klunk. It does make the car handle a tad bit better, bvut the best thing is NO KLUNK. My bar had the paint rubbed off to and hte stock bushing were torn in several places. I hope these new ones last longer. My car is a daily Driver so we will see.

I did this but kept the stock bolts and didnt use treadlock, just some elbow grease. Clunk is completly gone and that car handles better than it did new. It made a 100% change in the handling for me at least. My stock bushings were completly ripped and broken into bits. The car handles like it should now.

hey guys i went to the AWR link in one of the first couple posts... i understand that these bushings are only 8 bucks each, but then why is shipping 12 dollars? i'm paying 30 bucks for something that should have soct only 16 or 17?

is there any other place to get these that would cost less shipped?

Why would you want to kill the clunk?

It is a unique MSP personality trait! Along with the turkey, hesitation, fuel cut, flexible piping, hot intercooler, bad Kenwood radio, and wheel hop! LMAO!
