I had bought some washer, but ended up not using them.

Pocket looks great! Really adds to the interior.

The bracket goes along the center of the entire opening and is meant to support the front of the head unit so it doesn't rest on top of the pocket. It actually connect between the two screws you pointed out. The reason you can see them is because your headunit trip piece is not square like most.

Can't see them with my radio's trim piece...

What pocket is this chuyler? Any problems with it?

Great how-to....used it today to install my pocket and support bracket on my lunch break....took about 30 minutes.

I did have to remove my glove box though to pop the center radio panel out so I could get the support bracket mounted.

Can someone confirm that the bracket is mounted with the flanges pointing down?

I'm going to attempt to make my own out of a thick aluminum scrap I have. I suppose if it come own to it I'll just measure it myself and fab something up. I definitely want the pocket on top.

I'll be installing a pocket with a dampened door (closes softly) from an Acura CL. Hope all goes well.

My brother just went back into the army and left me all his audio equipment from his old car, I was wondering can i hook this up to my default dash?.

I'm new to car audio so i don't know jack s*** about this stuff.(lurk)

Wicked Post!

Going with the same setup. Price from the dealer was $144 with 3 days' delay max. Got my JVC KD-R900 on order as well. Will have to post photos when I get it running.

Again, thanks for the step by step demo!

Mine after a really rough time pulling the stock deck out:

the model-specific head unit removal tools are a lifesaver. granted its a 1 time use unitasker but it gets the job done so much easier

I did this a while back and never posted the install pic, it's just like everyone else's, but it's the best dash kit for these cars by far.

dont forget to tape new york asian escorts your center dash bezel at the edges closest to the radio w/ masking tape or painter's tape to help prevent scratches. i have new york escort some scratches and gashes on my center dash from my stupid clumsiness removing the stock radio. the plastic push bolts to secure the metal bar is a good idea, i just used screws and bolts. even new york asian escort though the player & bracket was secure, there was still some rattling going on, so i used a small piece of cardboard to new york escorts shim the cd player & pocket. so far so good.

How can I be assured that if I run for governor of New York, one of these escorts won't roll over to the tabloids and spill her guts?? Also do the escorts know how to hook up a in dash DVD with auxillary headrests? I want a single DIN flip out DVD to replace my double DIN OEM unit. How much do they charge per hour and do they warranty their work?(five-0)

BTW, thanks for the info on how to install the pocket.

Here are pics from my setup with the OEM open pocket and support bar. I was trying out two different JVC units. I winded up settling with the 2nd one since it's $70 cheaper:

Looks good! I think I have the same JVC unit in my CRX. The bottom one, lit up orange/red. Eventually I'll get my OEM out of my Protege.

Broken Bezel

So i just bought my 02 P5 last week, I will officially have it in my possession this coming friday, one problem with it is the previous owner broke the radio bezel when installing an aftermarket head unit. Wasn't too sure what he was thinking.....?

Heres a picture of it: radiobezel.webp

My question is, is this a different set up than what is going on in the How To?

And to fix, will I need to buy both the parts listed in Post #1 or just the bracket?

Thanks so much!

-Gabe

You will need the bracket and the pocket. I posted a pic of what the real OEM pocket looks like back when I had my P5, it's a few posts up. It came standard in MSPs, MP3s, and 99-00 Proteges so they aren't too expensive or hard to find.
