How to Install MSP Radio Pocket in P5 / Protege

The bracket goes along the center of the entire opening and is meant to support the front of the head unit so it doesn't rest on top of the pocket. It actually connect between the two screws you pointed out. The reason you can see them is because your headunit trip piece is not square like most.

Can't see them with my radio's trim piece...

I have a ? Chuyler....

I have an MSP Kenwood waiting to put into my P5 & a radio pocket...I have the bar from above but how does the HU get support in the back?

There should be some sort of threaded screw hole on the back of the unit. Find the right size screw to put in this along with a few nuts (so it doesn't go al the way in). Take the rubber grommet off the back of the factory deck and stick it on the screw and nuts that are sticking out of the new unit. As you slide the new unit into place, the rubber grommet should rest on the metal support bracket.

somebody wants to laugh ?

i ordered the bracket a few days ago at my dealer (i looked up right partno in the edm epc) and today i could pick up the item.. i wondered why the plastic bag and the label looked so bashed up...

and guess what:

the label on the item bag says: 18.6.2001 ... this item has been shipped to germany 5.5 YEARS AGO ! (shocked) isn't that incredible? i paid 22 Euros for a freakin 5.5 year old metal bracket hahahah (first)

MSP pocket+ Sony HU+ no support bar=

...edit for pics...... GHETTO looking install! I just did this install with the pocket up top. Well, without the support bar, there's too much space for both faces so the pocket just flops around(pic. 1). The rear support on the pocket looks like it has a locking tab but it is much too small to "lock in" to the metal support bracket. Anybody know the purpose of this? Also, the HU sits in too much- I secured the HU sleeve in well, can it be held out with some sort of spacer - how do you keep it flush with the face of the pocket door/bezel????(pic. 2)

HELP! where can I find the bolt that screws into the back of the head unit? I've tried every auto parts and hardware store in my area, as well as a few custom audio shops, with no luck! I need an M4 that is longer than 20 mm so it fits through the rubber grommet.

I can't install my MSP pocket until I get this damn screw. :(

i'd like to suggest this:
install the msp pocket into the lower part of the frame (plus the additional front bracket of course), then you wont need additional stabilisation of the headunit in the back... (it shouldnt be so hard to get a M4 with more than 20mm ???)

I'm pissed that these pockets are so expensive...
it's ridiculous that a piece of plastic is that expensive.... $20 would be too much for these...
I'm just gonna have to leave my disconnected Tape deck under my pioneer head until I can get one of these for cheaper........

Hate to bump this, but how about using a 2x1 DIN panel from like an MX-3 or Miata or something? Anyone tried that? Plenty of choices at the junk yard - does nothing fit?

What size bolts and nuts are used to install the bracket? Mine didnt come with any.
