I bought a stubby antenna for my 05 mazda3 5 door and there is a big gap does anyone know where I can by the 1" adapter so that there isnt a gap? (k)

If you bought stubs on ebay I would be careful with it! I put one of those on my last car, and after a year it broke off and left thread in the base unit...I couldn't take out the broken piece so the only option was no antenna or replace the entire unit (and rewire to the reciever...)

Good thing I traded that bad boy and the M3!! Long story short--- keep the stock antenna and don't install the stub!

Where did you get your stubby from? I have a stubby on my hatch and I don't have a gap...

try using the thread from the stock antenna. you should be able to unscrew it with a pair of pliars, then screw it into the stubby. Or, like mark said, cut off some thread...

for everyone still looking for a short antenna, i want to point your attention to this site:

http://www.carccessory.com/product.asp?key=Stubby_Short_Antenna_

The plain black one, 2.55 inches is on this site for 5.99 plus 5 shipping. The reception is 3 out of 5, and at that price I'll take it. I dont listen to the radio all that much, and at 10.99 shipped I think it is a great deal. I used paypal beacuse I am not familiar with the site, but if you still want a stubby antenna you should check out that site, they have other type of stubbys as well!!!

sharkfin ftw!!! had a stubby no reception and the color was black but a flat black and it always looked odd to me... painted to match sharkfin is the s***.
