I cant figure out how to get to the back of my stereo to hook up my satellite radio. Anyone have a guide to how to get to the stereo? This is getting frustrating as all hell.

You just need two Kenwood keys, take the face off and slip the keys in the slots. It comes right out. Maybe you should get it installed by a shop.

No, actually you don't

Just stick 2 butter-knifes down the sides and it does the same thing. The "keys" are nothing more than 2 peices of thin sheet-metal.

First, though, you have to take off the black ring that goes around the face...do this WITH THE FACE OFF! Otherwise you won't be able to get to it as easy.

If you have any other questions, there stereo forum has a lot about this very issue.

Btw- I have a full Alpine setup, with stock speakers...fairly easy install overall...even with a 4-ch amp.

no keys needed :) just poped lining off pulled right out put right back in

was easier than i thought... just took some balls to pull as hard as i needed to

installed now and jammin to XM :)

We had ours installed. Not to thread-jack, but Sirius (or Mazda) sent us incompatible satellite radio parts. Did this happen to anyone else?

We first just headed to Circuit City to take a look at their in-stock Sirius parts and see which was the wrong one, the antenna or the tuner, and they said we were sent an older antenna.

So now I'm sending the old one back, they're sending me the new one, and in the meantime we bought a new antenna (which came with a new tuner, and free installation, so we just had them install it and got it overwith). Now I'll be selling my extra tuner to a friend, and the new antenna -- whenever it comes in...

Honestly, the stock setup is pretty good, but in the stereo world, its pretty crappy overall.

I swapped mine out for an Alpine CDA-9815 w/XM. Added a 4x35w Alpine amp and a Class D 200wx1 @4ohm Alpine amp, sounds decent now...could use new speakers and a better sub(Infinity Kappa right now), but sounds 10x better than stock.

Here's where I put my antenna:

I didn't want anything on my paint. I actually have NO problems with reception at all, the only time I lose it when the signal is completely blocked. Don't let anyone tell you that you will lose signal quality because you put it behind glass...thats just not true.

Hey PKAY,
Were you from in st. louis? Were you getting off of 55 onto Lindbergh today? I seen a Black MSP at the last second. I was driving a Laser blue MP3, I was getting on 270. I was at the mazda dealer looking to trade the MP3. Like your car.
Sorry to ***** your thread.
