How come it's so hard to find rims for our car?

I was looking at rims today on wheelmax and I came across the Racing Hart C5's. I really like them, and they had them in 17 x 7's with the proper lug pattern. But everytime I see a rim I like, the offset seems to be off according to Reishi's recipe. These rims were only a 40 offset, and he recommended a 45 or higher. It's so annoying to come across rims you really like, only to have them be the wrong offset.

oh you think thats bad! i have a 02 mitsubishi lancer oz rally and i wanted some enkie fighter rims i waited 6 months oh yeah were making your lug pattern yeah you should have them in 2 weeks, 2 weeks later, oh were still making them, wait 2 more weeks, oh we desided not enuf interested for your car in that lug pattern :(
i waited 6 months :( and still didn't get the rims, i ended up going tenzo r poke-10 white rims looks nice tho.

WTF is up with the mods at the P5 forum? Every time a thread is made that even mentions a suspension part or some type of appearance or performance mod, they just move the thread to these boards. Last time I checked, I was talking about the P5 so how exactly is this thread not suitable for the god damned P5 board?

If you really want rims and are having a hard time finding them you cna always go the route I did with the MX-6 I used to have, I had rims made for it. You can go to any of the billet wheel manufactures and they will build you any size rim you want with whatever offset you want. I had 17 X 7 wheels done with a stock 42mm offset years ago when 17's were very rare. Had mine done at Budnik in Orange County and they were very easy to work with. Only thing is be prepared for price, as they will be a one off set. I paid close to $2000 for just the rims.

You can do a +42 17,7 but must run a 205/40/17. Sucks that we have this problem. But it's cool. Cause I have some wheels being built for you guys. BUt I just need to make sure I have a sound investment.

I will post some ads today.

I have motegi racing FF6 17x7 +42mm with 205/40ZR17 hankook k102's and they fit great with my lower

What will happen if you install a rim with a 40mm-35mm offset? Does that make them protrude outwardly- causing rubbing from lowered cars?

I have the RH Evolution C5'S. There a 40mm offset with 205/40/17 and with 4 ppl in the car no rubbing.Go figure:D

You are definitely special then or your fenders have been modified or the vehicle has negative camber in the rear.

Do you know your camber readings in the rear?

Regardless, my fitment recipe is the safe way to go.

Rishie.....so you say a 17x7 with a 42 offdet will fit the P5 fine.....right???? But will it also fit with Eibach springs??? Cause if not I need to cancel my order.......Thanks, Chris(yellowp5)

My car hase'nt been modified at all before or after putting the rims on. My friend does suspension work and said that I have plenty of room for even a 215/40/17 tire with the same rim. I have a camber kit for it but dont need it. The guys at wheelmax said that I will be fine with what I got when I got it.

JDM you are a very luck guy. That's all I can say. I've test fit so many wheels it's crazy in that fitment and the general consensus has been the same.

As an FYI, a wheel that is 7" wide is not 7" wide. It is wider. So there may be some deviation in actual wheel width for the brand you received.

The fitment recipe will work with lowered vehicles. no worries. A +42 with 205/40/17 will be fine.

Out of curiosity, jdm do you have an 02 or 03 P5.

Thanks, Rishie
