Hondata RSX

Ahh after watching a Type-S going around Summit, I have to agree they haul ASS. Guy couldn't catch the Supras on the straight but come the corners he had them everytime.

Course my roomates AR86 was doing the samething..oh if only we had the Silver top in there. :D

Black Majik, I'm pretty sure Reuben's last (best) run was 13.9 @ 103mph or so. He has Hondata, Intake, Race Header, Full exhaust, V-AFC, etc right? If you look at our 1/4 mile list, ARuno trapped 103.5mph with intake & 2.5" downpipe @ 10psi. That would be a very close race from almost any mph roll. You guys look at ETs too much. :) Imagine a MSP with full 3" exhaust, 11-12psi, S-AFC/eManage, FMIC.... :D

I got the 13.6 from his CarDomain site, but I think I saw him say 13.9 when he explained it.

AE86

The silver top isn't bad, but the black top is better because you can get it with a 6spd & individual throttle bodies. MMMMM

I love the AE86 & the fact that with the right driver, it can beat an R34 in road racing or own everyone in drifting.

What Reuben said it does:

"This resets the fuel map, lowers vtec activation from 5800rpms to 5200rpms, and raises redline from 8100rpms to 8600rpms."

Which means you can do this:

Why would you lower the VTEC activation point? Unless you get different cams, I guess.

You don't have to get new cams, it just tells the ECU to switch earlier, thus allowing you to stay in VTEC longer.

That's stupid. I would like to see the dyno results of that. The cam profile switches over at a certain RPM for a reason. The cam profiles when VTEC is "engaged" work well at high RPMs. Switch over sooner and you will lose torque.

Burn will explain it whenever he gets back online. I'm no expert on it, but believe me, it works.

OK thinking about it I was being a pompus jerk :p. Sorry. :( I guess I'm a little tired. If you are changing the overall tuning of the car it can be useful I'd say. I guess I was thinking of people who just want to lower the VTEC activation point so it "kicks in sooner, yo."

More or less. Gains in the N/A department will take some work. We don't really have stuff that is "plug and play" like Hondata. The most comparable is Haltech and standalones like that, which you will most likely need to make your own fuel maps for. :)

no :(
too stupid with car electronics...or cars in general. maybe after i educate myself. so that's a temporary answer. :P

Even the 2.3L in the 3 is only 160hp...the Hondata has great results because they get to start with a 200hp NA engine. Bottom line is the K20 is basically the engine of choice for NA tuners right now.
