When I put it on I do only have a few screws in it. I just had the extras stuck in there when it was in the box so I wouldn't lose them. Thanks for the instruction link though! That's more than I found.
When I took mine apart today, all eight of the screws go through the shroud. Basically put the rubber gasket into the shroud, put the shroud onto the bov, then screw all eight (8) of the screws on. At least that is how mine is set up. It looks like from the picture that you screwed the rubber gasket on first and perhaps that is why the shroud won't fit. You will lose boost if there is a gap any where in there. When I started my car with the shroud off to see, it would just stall out at idle.
