i am looking at the hiboost turbo kit for the 2.0L protege. Question beeing: if i buy the kit is there anythink else that i would need to buy to use/install the kit? anyone know exactly what comes with the kit ? (i have e-mailed hiboost and they havent e-mailed me back) if anyone has any insight on the kit let me know. Does it have a turbo timer with the kit?

the complete kit comes with everything needed for installation. a turbo timer is not required for a turbo installation and is not included. if you purchase the budget priced kit, you will need to buy a blowoff valve and an engine management system.

what is in the kit for fuel management or to upgrade the fuel system... injectors, fuel pump... etc

the kit comes with a haltech f10x fuel management computer with a basic turbo fuel map. you do not need larger injectors or a fuel pump on the kit as it comes.

Let me clarify about our kits.

We now offer the complete kit that comes with everything, no need to buy anything else to install the kit besides gauges, turbo timer and other accesories that you may want or you can get the budget kit which is the same except for the Fuel Management and blow off valve.

So the kit is very complete and can make 320+ WHP with the proper upgrades.

so if i buy a boost controller and up the boost to say... 20PSI can the Haltech F10X (that comes with the kit) still handle the fuel requirments??

then what needs to be done... can the Haltech F10X still be used ?... is it that i need bigger injectors fuel pump etc?????????????

unless your car has forged internals...you cant boost 20psi

if i do up the boost to anywhere above10PSI then i will be putting forged rods and forged low comp pistons...... but back to the question about the fuel management

i personally would not rely on a fuel-only computer such as the f10x for double digit levels of boost. to make the most power and be safest - yes, even with forged internals - you will want a system that controls fuel and timing. bigger injectors and a larger fuel pump are nice and will help, but in the long run thats not going to prevent detonation from too much timing.

what would you suggest for a computer?? injectors?? walbro in-tank fuel pump??

i wont be running at 20Psi just driving around all day... i will bump it up to 20psi at the track or when i really want to go fast lol

20psi + stock internals = kablamo

On race gas, you *might* be able to venture up into 10-12 psi but you would still be pushing your luck.

i said a few posts earler that i was planning on putting forged rods, and low comp pistons in the engine!!!!
