HELP: strut Rear Clunk

have had my P5 dropped since beginning of this year and I have had this clunk in the rear that has really been pissing me off. i have about 50K on the stock struts. have checked out all bolts, on top of the strut, bottom and end-links look good......

the sound sounds like it is coming from upper part of the start?????

anyone else have this problem with eibachs with stock struts?

thanks.

I have the same problem too. I dropped the car two cars back with TEIN but has gone back to stock a year after. The noise is annonying and only happen when I go over bumpy roads. I feels like the suspension is going to fall out or something...

The nut going to the upper bolt????

It only happens when i hit a big bump when the strut compresses or releases fast.......sounds terrible......

i found nothing loose???????

this was discussed before. do a search. put a washer under the nut at the top of the strut. the 17mm one i believe

I am thinking that also. Car is not as firm as before but I'm not expecting much after 86k miles of driving... On top of that I still need to take care of the timing belts, brakes are getting bad, tires soon needs to be changed... I'm starting to look into the option of getting a new ride instead... opinions?

brakes are easy on our cars.....did all four wheels last weekend. timing belt is not that bad i heard. i have another 40K or so to worry about that.

i go through my tires fast........winter tires will go on soon!

Yeah, Brakes I can do myself, I've done the fist set myself back at 40k miles. Timing belt is the monster though, at least with my limited knowledge on cars I don't think I can attempt it by myself. Good thing my girlfriend's brother is a mechanic so he can help. I asked a dealer about parts (time belt, drive belts, water pump and head gasket) and they quoted $250!! Man I'm going broke....

... and yeah, winter tires for me too, last year I got stuck with my "all-season"... Looking at getting a set of Bridgestone Blizzark...

$250 seems good for all that work.

bridgestone makes ngret tires.......

I'm hoping the same thing too. Where can I get the washer?

lowes, home depot........

i might try to do this tomorrow.

i did not get a chance to try this this weekend.
