Ok so im having the worst time on earth trying to find parts for my 2003.5 mazdaspeed protege maybe im not looking hard enough or not in the right spots, but im lost! Im looking to increase my cars whp as much as i can and im looking to spend the money to get it where i want it so does anyone know where i can find anything and everything i could ever want for this car? Also I hear all these transmission fears from non-mazdaspeed owners telling me oh no look out they break! is there any validity to these statements and if so does anyone know how to prevent this and around what kind of hp do the problems start occuring. HELP HELP HELP! IM A DUMBASS! (scratch)

apexr1.com --> never heard any problems from there. chris at spdracing. there are some who had luck with these sites but NOT all. --> corksport, protegegarage, turbohoses, hi-boost, ion, etc

Welcome aboard.:)

What kind of power are you looking to make?

im lookin to make as much as i can for a reasonable price ya know? without going overboard. i mean ive heard cryo-ing the gears in the tranny and up grading the clutch will prevent any form of disasterous damage to my drivleline so im looking to do that first probally just to cover my hinney but really to answer your question id love to make as close to 300whp as possible if thats reasonable......who knows not I (scratch)

Start with SRI, FMIC, 3" turbo-back exhaust, and boost controller set at 10-12psi.

That will give you a really nice bump in power....see how that feels before you do anything drastic.

I agree with jersey (also a CAI will work if you prefer). Those mods alone should have you in the 230 whp range (correct me if I'm wrong guys) but your injectors, and plugs may need changing by then. But I don't think 300whp is unrealistic at all, but as was said above, it'll take money (to avoid tranny damage, blown motor etc.). You may want to find a good tuner shop close to you too.

so cryoing the gears and putting a higher performing clutch is probally the only way to save driveline disaster.....im aware of having to pay but i just dont wanna get way in over my head and be like woah damn this wasnt worth it! also ive heard a ton of good stuff about the tein ss suspension setup is this better than the tuned suspension in my car? im just trying to make a car that handles like a mofo and screws down the highway cause nothing is better than dodging and weaving traffic at 130mph.....um i mean speeding is bad dont do it! (spank) hahahaha!

I run consistant 13.50's @ 11psi and I have less than 1400$ into it.....I know its not 300whp, but I'm happy so far.
