Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

happy to help, but I see the inverse. Honda the transformer (lots of chrome and creases and angles), CX5 the Lohan with silicone injected lips (trout pout).

not sure which one i'd want to take home................?

The one with DSLs, but she'd have to be gone by morning...

New CR-V front reminds me of those Predator vs Alien type movies. It looks really mean. Until you realize its CVT and it goes "Rolling in the deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep."
Oh crap nevermind.

7.5 seconds to 60 IS mean when your ride does it in 8.4...

Filter out the typical users in your settings and things become more reasonable as a Mazda fan or one who want to read / post about your car.

Although I do agree at this point every single thread seems to somehow end up as a CX-5 vs CRV debate when this is the only thread (or one of few threads) with the topic.

You mean I can filter out Mango?
I'll have to scroll through the settings page and check it out. Thanks.

Yup, likely faster around a track as well, even though they're not track cars. Once a tune is available for the CRV, you'll be able to get at least 200 HP out of it easily as well. Not bad for a 'box on wheels'...Honda really nailed it with this CRV, it's a substantial upgrade over the previous generation. And unlike on these forums, I don't think you'll find a single previous-generation CRV owner who thinks their CRV is better than the new one.

Move over NSX, there's a new speed demon on the block and it goes by CRV! ;)

I'm not sure if I should be happy for Honda for figuring out how to break the 8 second mark, or angry at Mazda, or just not really give an eff. I feel like I should care but the car really feels fast enough.
But lets continue (deadhorse)

sorry bro. My GF thinks yours is butt ugly. keeping her minimally ugly 2015.

(doh)

nor would she waste her money modding a CRV....

Why do you care so much then Mango? Maybe go enjoy the 2017 circlejerk on the CR-V forums then. I don't know why you want the jerk from Mazda folks.

I guess that's your fetish.

bigtex is killing it. Mango is running out to search a 2nd good angle. I dont know if he will find it.

Maybe from under the car? Lelolel

Good job there Kaps. (rofl)

But yeah. That has got to be the only good angle for a CR-V. And even then, it's excessively chromed, and looks big and bulky to me. The CX-5 just looks plain sleek from any angle (my thoughts on the swoop, front, and added chrome aside).

The way people mod CX5s makes your comment lose a lot of sting though.

not reallly.... as i'm not modding my CX5. nor are we modding our CRV.

what others do is none of my business... nor am I criticizing or praising their decisions. Mango can't have it both ways. its either a toaster on wheels or a tunable racecar.... he can't make up his mind, and uses either argument depending upon the commentary.

THANK YOU.

I made this point months ago about he he flip flops depending on the commentary. Glad others see it too.

Tune? Pretty sure the average CRV buyer would not care to tune it. If you were a Honda salesmen you'd be a pretty crappy one LOL. You tell em' about the cupholders, CVT, and they should get one because every one else does. I mean that's why you're here right? To tell folks the CRV should be the only purchase they should ever make. no matter what.

Mango on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire:

What is the largest mammal in the world?

A. Blue Whale
B. Brown Bear
C. CRV
D. Horse

Ummm I know this. The answer is C. CRV. Final answer.

It's an appliance that can be tuned for more power and performance, not that I would but at least the option is there. No one is saying it is a race car. Never did. Lets not spread fake news...

I know the lackluster performance of the CX-5 in comparison to the CRV is making you guys salty, you'll just have to deal with it. Honda has managed to increase power, handling and fuel efficiency while Mazda has somehow gone backwards. That's not opinion, THAT'S FACT.

And we can talk about looks/style all we want but we all know style is subjective. Besides, what does it say about the CX-5 that not just Motor Trend but a few other online auto publications think the 'butt ugly wide behind' appliance/box on wheels CRV is a better overall vehicle than the CX-5? Pretty sad considering most of these car companies are full on enthusiasts, they're supposed to pick the CX-5. The fact that they are not is very telling.
