Help Me Decide: CX-5 vs. CR-V

Tom Volk in his Driven says 17 CX5 does 60 under 8. What gives? I think mine does what 2013s do - atleast I think there is no significant difference. He bought his bro in law - who had a prev. gen. He loved quite a lot of the aspects.
When the question was popped - If you had to buy a car now would you still give CX-5 a chance - he said yes.

Tom suggested Mazda might add a signature edition - pano roof, real wood, possibly 2.5T in future : A porsche Macan for the masses.
That would be cool but probably hit late 30s in MSRP. I think if MAzda can pull that Signature Trim for 38K - would be a solid Bang! 250 hp/torque and good looks.
Though I hope we get a good hybrid version as well.

Don't forget, it also completed the Figure-8 track at a quicker time as well according to Motor Trend. So much for that awesome 'handling' it has...

They're just numbers dude, and numbers don't matter, remember?! They were probably also paid off to say such things. No way could there be any truth to it, no way...

The same way someone could possibly look at the CRV with its better handling, full second faster to 60mph acceleration, better braking, AND better mpg, and say the CX5 has a better driveline.

Yeah, I guess you could get an Escape as well.

Due to its non-defeatable stability control though (per the article), right Mang? Hey I'm actually kind of unhappy about the loss of that ability btw..

It does look pretty good from that angle.
Yeah. I'll agree that it looks way better than older gen CR-Vs. Plus those CX-5 style wheels (aww how nice) are better than those god awful Honda ones.

Now do a pic from the front or back!

When I joined this website a few weeks ago, I was under the assumption that this was a Mazda forum site. Apparently I goofed.
It looks like I joined a Honda site instead.
That's too bad, as I do not like Honda's.
I have always had bad experiences with them and their dealerships, and ultimately don't want anything to do with them.
Can someone forward me a link to a good Mazda forum/user site?
Thanks.

I love the looks of mine. Click the photo for a close up:

Of course you will, you spent your hard earned $ on it.

Just like how I like the way mine (CX-5) looks.

Just begs the question. If you have this why repeatedly come here and seemingly waste your time pushing your thoughts / defending your purchase to Mazda fans. Why not go spread your love on a Honda forum?

Honest question, no bashing intended...

the reflection makes it look like the passenger door is smashed in.

Lelolel. I thought so too.

I actually think like we see folks dressed as Statue of Liberty during tax time dancing waving and getting customers in, is exactly the way Honda hires designers in Japan. Any random Joe from the street.
Their cars are uniformly butt ugly. Overdesigned. Only two cars that look ok are Accord and Pilot. - those are bland.

Ha! You and me both brother. I thought this was a Mazda forum too, but apparently it's where Honda salesman run free!

I hope this counteracts that Honda image. The Honda is handsome, but this car is sexy. My $.02
But don't listen to me, I'm biased. I smile every time I look at it.

Filter out the typical users in your settings and things become more reasonable as a Mazda fan or one who want to read / post about your car.

Although I do agree at this point every single thread seems to somehow end up as a CX-5 vs CRV debate when this is the only thread (or one of few threads) with the topic.

You say that, but then it appears the new CX-5 and crv went the same way in certain aspects; chrome on the side, no more swoop, excessive Grill, wheels, just to name a few...

I use 20 grams of Chrome, you use 2kgs - should we both get the same punishment? Lol.
