and check that the cable which controls temperature is attached and working. The little white plastic dial under the dash should turn as you turn the temperature control.

If it isn't it I'm out of ideas. Except that before you do anything else, including driving to the dealers, check your coolant level. The same fluid goes up into the heater and if you have a leak there you may be low on coolant.

deffinatly check your coolant levels.. mine was running pretty normal after i got it back from the body shop(front end wreck) and the heater was putting out cold air. checked it.. there was enuff to keep the car normal but not to the okay level.. added some .. and once again the p5 has heat

If there was was work done in the center console you really should check the cable that goes from the temperature control on the dash to the plastic dial next to the glove box. On my car some previous owner had routed that cable wrong and so it had pulled out of the black clip near the dial and was running into the dial at a crazy angle. It's important that the cable be both hooked to the dial and be routed correctly. Also that it run through the black clip. It's really trivial to check, just pull the glove box and turn the control while you watch the white plastic dial move (or not.) If it's routed wrong it's not hard too fix.
