headliner mod

Is the headliner still "soft" to the touch or is it rock hard due to the paint?

Any chance of flaking off?

No, that paint will not chip off, it soaks into the headliner and the paint is ment for fabrics and vinyl so no worry's. Once the paint is dryed it is not as soft as it once was but still not that bad. I would highly recommend you do it. One of the best appearance mods you can do to your interior.

Did you wait for it to dry fully? Don't worry it go's away aventually. Suprisingly I never had that smell when I put mine back in my car.

Not yet. The paint is on the shelf in the garage. I didn't want to gut my car this close to a NOPI show, incase I broke some clips or something.

It would look kind of tacky to be in a show with parts of my headliner hanging down. LOL

I found if you just pull back the top part of the pillars you can take the headliner out without taking the panels and pillars out completely around the door openings. Well good luck at the show, let us know how you do.

I thought about doing this when i took my head liner out last year. but decided not to cause of the sun roof. anyone done it with a sun roof?

I shaved my visors though. hahahahahahaopens up the windshield a lot. ill take pics

I took first place.

My car is at the shop right now getting the lower grill painted black with blue mica to match the upper grill. Then the rock chips are being addressed, so I can get rockblocker and protect my hood & bumper for ever.

Yah, don't. A good rule of thumb in interior painting is to never paint anything that will be used alot like a door handle. I left my handles and visors unpainted when I painted my pillars and headliner and it looks great IMO

Yah as you know this would be the wrong place to ask. You just got to keep your eye on the for sale thread like us all or post up a new thread in the WTB section saying what you want to buy or need. You will have better luck there since people looking to get rid of stuff often look there for buyers. good luck!
