Headlights not working/highbeam symbol stays on

hi, I have a 2003.5 MSP and have an issue with the headlights. When I turn the headlight switch on, only the yellow lights come on. The headlights remain off and the highbeam symbol appears. The symbol continues too stay on when I switch too high beams but still no light from the headlights. My aftermarket fog lights are working perfectly fine also, any suggestions as too what I should do?? any help would be MUCH appreciated as i cannot drive at night time now lol.

The headlight switch may be bad, it's relatively simple to replace just remove the column and it screws in.
