Hawaii Honey Moon

been there done that. honeymoone'd on oahu with my first wife (the ugly one). i've also been there for multiple other trips reasons. have time-share on maui now.

i'll tell you what i tell other first timers to hawaii- go to oahu, unless you're seriously agoraphobic. it is almost always crowded. there are lots & lots of japanese tourists in waikiki, but i like that for the most part (kind of helps that i speak it, too). make sure, though, that you take her to the north shore. it's 1) gorgeous 2) way less crowded. check this place out http://www.adrhi.com/malaekahana-beach.asp...it's a bit hidden & out of the way, but so worth it. you have to "hike" from the parking lot to the beach, and make sure you're out before dark (the locals can get a bit territorial after then). make sure to hit [size=-1]Kua 'Aina Burger out in Haliewa when you're there...bad ass burgers.

If you decide on maui, make sure you take her on the road to hana. magnificent views...but what do i know? ;) listen to nutari

Make sure if you stay on the big island to goto the hawaian cultural center (something like that) its kinda pricey but well worth the money.. Very neat time.. going in May.. gonna be warm... We went in August 5 yrs ago and it gorgeous. Want to go back sometime in like Oct / Nov...

I like the big island; I don't think it's all that touristy. My mother-in-law lives in Kona and my wife's cousin is in Hilo. My brother-in-law is on O'ahu in Hawai'i Kai. So we always have a place to stay for free. :)

Speaking of food... I miss the huli huli chicken. Could really go for a bento plate too... Damn Texans... can't find good barbecue here lol
