I keep looking at the options for the indash GPS/DVD
I really like the addition of blue tooth/ipod and DVD system in the dash.
Some units even have TPMS screen.
I want to add the rear view camera since this is a cheap addition once the system is there.

The options i have seen are all basically chineese
I have looked at the option to buy the double din install kit and find a double din GPS system
but most cost more then the direct replacement units on ebay.

Now i have found some local or looked local companies selling those chineese units. All have a 1 yr warrenty. But i have not seen any reviews on any of them.

Has anyone done an autopc? I saw one post somewhere but I didn't see any prices just lots of custom work to make the screen fit and I was not a huge fan of the interface compared to the nicer units running wince and such.
but the idea of a HD in the car with every song/video I can put on it.

this site lists the 4-5 main units i like. i think if you look hard there are about 2-3 more out there slightly different

I installed a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT, and it looks and works like OEM. It was purchased from Crutchfield a year or so ago, and out the door it was around $1100. I did the install myself.

Its 2010. You can run a better OS than Windows CE in your Carputer.Theres gonna be plenty of custom work needed for it

It's funny because I have been looking into the same thing. I called the dealer about the oem indash gps and he said it was about $5000 dollars. My jaw dropped. I had also been looking at the ones on ebay. They look nice and very stock. In the end I opted to go with the JVC KW-NT3HDT. It cost more than the ebay/chinese model. But it had a lot of features I really liked. I'll post some pics if you are interested in seeing what it looks like.

I've been looking into the KW-NT3HDT and would like to see the pics of your installation.

I finally made my decision and bought this

I bought this unit due to the fact that it was the only unit i found not runing win ce 5 but 6 and the navigation had better features
the interface i liked better, had a better back up camera with feet measurement listed and night vision. pip and dual zone so I can listen to music while navigation is on. steering wheel controls i can setup via the unit so I can make these my own. i don't like the channel surfing button of holding down the p or down button to get the next available station if you press up it just selects your next preset station
plus the price was decent.
I bought a 3 yr warrenty for 38 bucks

I finally made my decision and bought a dash kit and dvd gps unit with blue tooth and steering wheel controls
the unit lets me select what buttons do what. it needs to be programmed but in the end I get the controls the way i like them

many radio either have a built in setup or have an adaptor you can buy either way it can be done on most newer radios
