hard pipe kits

The kit is definitely expensive, but I'm about to purchase the turbohoses kit right now as well... Seems like the best way to go.

my taxes and George Dubbya money is already spent lol.....I guess I will just save up for the turbohoses kit....

I have heard the sls hot pipe will work fine, i just figured that i should just get replacement pipes now instead of later when they crack

yeah... I am picky though I really dont care for the PC black pipe from SLS... so turbohoses/SU will be it most likely

I ordered the turbohoses kit, and I thought I was going to be able to have them pre-drill and weld on the flange for me and then ceramic coat it. Since I don't have the BOV yet, and if they do the work and it doesn't turnout right, the warranty or return capability is gone. The guy from Turbohoses said to just have it drilled and welded by my mechanic once I decide where I want to put the BOV, although he'll provide me a flange for the HKS BOV I ordered which was cool. They are polishing my kit up today and sending it out by tomorrow, should have it early next week since I live close to where their located. And my BOV got shipped today as well, hopefully I'll have some pic's and sound clips by next week.

^lucky bastard mine had so many problems, when it got ceramic coated the guy who does it forgot about mine and when they finally got it back the coupler color I wanted was on back order arghh! well i should get mine shipped out by the end of the week

to go back to the WeaponR hardpipes issues, i thought the fitmit wasn't bad at all, worked pretty well, looked good, the only issue is you'll need the new couplers/clamps no matter what, when i went to the store to replace them, the guys there thought the ones WeaponR sent with the kit was a joke because they were usless lol, but the fact that they are in a few different peices allows enough movement so no real need for hump couplers, for the most part, but overall they were not too bad if you dont mind adding $80-100 to the price of the kit.

i had both sotck piping and aftermaket piping ( SLS hotpipe and SU cold pipe) and i must say i dont really see what's wrong with the stockers if you stay at a reasonable boost level.. like i'm around 7.5 - 8 psi with the stock SMIc and everything is cool...

I need some aftermarket hardpipes. The stock pipes suck. The coldpipe connected to the bottom intercooler inlet keeps coming off. But i have the custommsp smic tho.

replace the plastic, heat soak is a b****.... just replacing my intercooler and getting hard pipes i noticed a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference, worthy of the investment

ya, i noticed a big difference, mostly after 10-15min of driving the boost is still the same because of heat soaking, after buying the coupler replacements and looking at the T-bolts i would have been better off with something else other than the WeaponR, just because those couplers and clamps were around ~$180 added to the kit... ill see how it goes with just the normal linear clamps for a little while, hopefully i don't get stranded anywhere too far from home lol... anyone have any input on just using the linear ones.. it shouldn't be too bad right?, ill check them to make sure they are still tight here and there i guess.

There are a couple places online:

Protegegarage.com: Weapon R kit - Aluminum hard pipe kit

Turbohoses.com: MSP Aluminum Hard pipe kit

I've been told and have read thru some old threads here that if you have the money to buy the kit from turbohoses. Seems like people have issue's with their Weapon R kit from what I've read. Although I don't own either yet, my turbohoses kit is coming in shortly.

If the worm clamps fail on you and you're out and about and keep blowing pipes off then just leave the couplers on and stay outta boost. If you drive the car like that you'll never see the pressure that is blowing tthe pipes off.

-ya i had to buy $100 for new couplers, 3 straight, 3 transistion, didn't need humps because of the seperate peices, but still don't have the T-bolt clamps for the set, which would be another 80 or so, so overall the turbohoses i think are the better way to go.. i like the weaponR kit, but they should have come with better couplers/maybe clamps to be worth buying.

-and ya as far as the couplers my clamps should be good for a while ill just check here and there, i got them pretty tight, i even slipped once and put a nice little hole in hand between my thumb and pointer finger lol, i had the couplers that came with the kit on before i got the new ones in and just drove outa boost, but what fun is that (yawn)

where did you buy couplers from? when you get your t-bolt clamps use:

siliconeintakes.com good prices and they sell couplers, vac lines, t-bolt clampts, straight silicone pipe, everything you could think of and they usually ship withing 3-5 days. I used them twice so far and have no complaints (forgot about size difference between MAF and intake pipe and ordered straight couplers instead of reducers , doh!, so i had to make a second order and return parts from the first)
