that there are two pegs and two corresponding small holes behind the MAZDA badge on the back of the car, I would not have gone through the effort to debadge and clean up the back. Oh well, at least I didn't break it, now I just have to get some sticky double side tape and put it back on; sigh.

oh, if you had only read a little bit more on the Mazda forums about those pesky little dimples/holes.

No doubt...with all the threads on this issue...how could you NOT know.
(shrug)

IT must be a damn Mazda/Ford thing....they love to use those alignment holes which makes badge removal a very expensive process to do the right way.

I was just a little naive/hopeful that there wasn't going to be one behind the 'MAZDA' since it isn't on my MS3; I should have consulted the collective here first -- lesson learned.

Definitely behind the word "MAZDA"; I had previously removed the "5" with no issues. At least on the MS3, there are posts behind the Mazda symbol; I highly suspect there on the 5's symbol too.

I don't think there are any behind the 5. There isn't any behind the 3 but there is for the "mazda"

I took the 3 off and put Axela on the opposite side. Getting rid of them holes will be expensive. I'm pretty sure there are holes behind the symbol too, is there not?

Anyone know how it is on the 2012? I can leave the center symbol there, but would like to remove the MAZDA and the 5.

If I just remove the 5, will look pretty stupid.

There are no holes/pegs behind the Mazda or the 5 on the 2012. I removed my badging the day after I purchased it.

YES that is great news, thanks! I plan to take delivery Thurs night, and do it then.

Few questions if you don't mind me asking. Your car seems to be my twin! I need to do the tint to. Can you provide some details (%, ceramic/metallic, $), and if you have any side pics? I am sending you my email via PM,tahnks for the help!

Since the rear hatch glass and the two side glass (by 3rd row) has the "black window surround", I want to make sure my tint sorta matches.

Lemski, does the black plastic piece on your rear bumper come stock?

Our rear bumper has some scratches, and instead of having it fixed and repaint, I've thought of doing something like I see on yours to it with some undercarriage spray. Saw a brand new Sienna on the road not long ago with a heavy texture on the rear bumper and realized they had used truck bed coating. Looked OK, but very durable. I'd just like to do something less noticeable, and being on the bottom, like your's, even Line-X would be.
