I dont want to rain on anyone's parade, but: SMIC is only useful if you can get air to it. I'm more curious to know how you plan to pipe air to the SMIC without cutting the body, or creating some elabotate duct work for the air flow.

You "ProPartsUSA.com" come in here and parade your fancy SMIC. Funny, no price yet? Why is that? Why can't someone spend some realistic time and figure out who's "junk yard FMIC" will fit to replace the original FMIC. Develope some piping and boxes to accomodate it and deliver a product that's $100's cheaper.

This is a nice 12 page thread thats says absolutely nothing except you might have a SMIC and new downpipe.

Why don't you post when its available with an attached price?????

The stock location you still get decent airflow. You don't need to do any crazy cutting or anything like that. If you can see the intercooler from the front of the car, that means its getting air. It's like saying the radiator isn't getting air because there is a bumper in front of it.

I was told at sevenstock that they were pressure tested up to 50 psi as well. I'm actually gonna test them next week using an air compressor to see exactly what they hold up too.... heh heh heh

Ive just relaying what i have been told by the engineers of the MSP. That wasnt my personal test or anything.

I cannot boost past about 7.5psi at higher rpm... I got the AWR front motor mount, and this helped a little, I can boost to 8psi now. In fith I can go up to about 9. I think what's happening is the pipes lose their seal, and leak boost at higher rpm due to the expansion of the plastic. Anyone else besides me and peter experiencing this?

btw, what a waste of race fuel!

I was unable to boost above 9.5 psi, same with Mike (TBL).

That can be a very dangerous procedure there notorious; if you really want to make a pressure test, fill it with water and then pressurize it.... otherwise you'll have the equivalent of a small bomb ready to go...

He's talking about pressure testing the pipes...which you wouldn't want to do with them on the engine anyways.

He is doing it while connected to the engine, as long as it isn't running you can put the preasure up to to 800psi without effecting the engine. he is testing the pipes at a very low psi (20-40)

you are aware that the cylinders see over 700 psi of pressure during normal use right?? This does not damage the engine at all, its a safe procedure as long as you don't blow the plastic pipes to pieces. Which of course we aren't gonna go that far.

Its common practice to pressurize the pipes (yes on the engine with it off) to see where you have boost leaks.

*edit* i might have mis-interpreted your post, but I'm not literally blowing the pipes apart, I just want to see where they leak, and at what boost.

Its all the same one.
Protosport, Circuit sports, Tripoint, JSpec. Same one. Same with the braces. They are all by the same manufacturer.

hahah i was gonna pressurize the boost gauge and just park the car out in the middle of the road and take a picture the gauge pegged at maximum boost. It would have been a great april fools picture.

about right for the pressures, it's the procedures i wasn't aware of. you see, you just can't do that on a ship.... besides there is a known incident where a junior engineer tried pumping a drum dry by plugging it to the ship's service air. He forgot to hook a pressure regulator to bring the pressure to ten pounds and instead plugged 95...i'll let you guess the rest........
