Grinding in 1st gear at rpm 1k-2.5k

Ive been noticing that since I changed out the motor mounts in my car that the car seems to either grind roughly or vibrate pretty harshly after engaging the clutch in 1st gear and getting the car to start pulling.

One of my CV's is torn and it is in on the to-do list, however, is this sound coming from my car a bad axle on the front left side (where the sound originates) or could it be the clutch even though its only in 1st gear during the first thousand rev range. I would think it would be difficult to tell without changing the CV boot first to see if it goes away, but I was hoping others may have had similar problems.

ya probably the cv joint it sounds like to me. replace it and see what happens. btw what mounts did you change it to? stiffer ones?

Nope i got a huge discount on OEM mounts, i paid about 230 total for all 4 and did all the labor myself with help from a friend. It made a huge improvement on the feel of the car. I'll go ahead and make my next investment the CV joint and a new CAI.

lol you paid 230 for oem dude u could of gotten solid mounts for 190 u got riped.

from research that ive done on more solid mounts, there would have been more vibration and they also dont last as long because of the quality of the rubber/urethane they use. It was my choice and I'm pretty happy with it.
