The Protege pulleys are fine. Of over 100 ALT sold, only 3 had issue. One because it was installed wrong and the other because it was pulled so tight that it tore the lip off. The 3rd, looking into it. A second batch of ALT were made and the lip was strengthened. If yours boke, send me a PM with your name address and a replacement will be sent off.

Yeah, I honestly have no idea why mine broke. It wasn't too tight last week because it was making noise and I just slightly tightened it about 3 days ago to fix the noise and then this. I have some pics, maybe I can get them up later. I apprecaite any help and/or replacement parts. Thanks!

Oh, and I sent you a PM with my info.

anybody running all the pulley's without issues? i'm getting ready to install all 3, but i'm a bit nervous (nailbyt)

I recvd an updated PS pulley.
My shop had a tuff time removing the stock PS pulley and then we found the new one was not lining up with the belt grooves.
So right now I am running a RR UDCP with Brachs Alt and WP pulleys and the stock PS.
My belts squeal alot. I have been tighening them regularly.
I had gotten the recommended size for the UDCP but I need smaller.
My shop tells me that Aluminum pulleys will squeal alot more than steel.
anyhoo...(eek2)

(lurk)

Also not to use the spray for belts, that it will glaze the AL pulleys

I'm having issues with my alt pulley. Everything was fine until yesterday, it was professionally installed by a shop that put my engine back in my car, has about 500 miles on it, posted in the 'other' thread with pics.

water pump pulley bolts are 69.5-95.4 in-lbf, crank pulley bolt is 116-122 ft-lbf. the manual doesn't have a torque spec for the alt pulley.

All I know is that it took a hell of a lot of force to remove the stock nut from the altinator. I ruined my stock pulley getting it off.

Its really not Critical man....Just tighten them things down......Seriously.

I got the new P/S pulley last week ... installed it yesterday.
The previous aluminum pulley broke while trying to pull it off, so I had to cut it off.

The new one is not only more solid and a better design, it matches my polished engine parts.
